ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT

I've lived at Slate Creek for many years and am finally moving out. All the negative reviews you have read on this site are absolutely true. A tenant above us finally got evicted after several complaints of not only partying at all hours but fighting and screaming. I guess the final straw was the police being called 4 times in one night. I got to bed at 2:30 a.m. Dumpsters always overflowing and yes they smell bad in the summer. Nothing at all is updated. The appliances in my apartment are the original ones from 15 years ago. Teh models are absolutely gorgeous but as the other review noted, ask to see a non-model because they look NOTHING like the models do. All walls are painted with cheap stark white paint. You can't even wipe dirt off of the walls or it will take the paint off. Bathtub gets so moldy I have to pour bleach around the edges after cleaning just to get rid of it. And to think for a 1035 sq. ft 2 bedroom they are charging $1100. Go somewhere else and get more for your money. People let their dogs poop everywhere and the kids can;t play in the grassy areas anymore because of it. Lastly, everyone is complaining of the speed bumps. Well, the reason for them is because the place is so big and with a lot of kids playing and riding their bikes. There are idiots who drive like they are on a main road when they come through here.

I absolutly agree. I should have written in my review about the mildew. Both of our bath tubs get disgusting mold in them no matter how often we clean them!

Our bathroom gets the gross mildew also. I was so upset about the model apartment too! They show you this beautiful model with awesome appliances and then when you move in, you get crappy outdated ones..half the stuff in our apartment was broken when we moved in and it took weeks for them to come fix it.

I do have to say that it is not their custom to rent to noisy pary people. I know of the group of partyers mentioned and they have been asked to move and have done so at Slate's insistence - they are now gone and the are is mostly peaceful. As for the garbage overflowing, I have noticed that they take it out Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I have leved here since 2003 and they used to take it out Mondays and Fridays. The garbage isn't ALWAYS overflowing, but you can bet that by Monday it is. Yes, my bathroom gets mildew too. They have too big of gaps in their shower & bath for the caulk they use - they need to use silica gel. Additionally, they don't give it time to dry out when they re-caulk it. The appliances ARE old but when they break they usually come back with a working one within a day, maybe two. They have now upgraded their apartments and they have BRAND NEW appliances, upgraded cabinets, and more expensive carpet but it comes with more expensive rent. I have actually lived in numerous apartments and I truly do think that Slate is pretty good for the price.
