I've lived in the Slate Creek Apartments for a couple of years now, and my experience it's been quite pleasant. It's a great location, close to everything, i love the shopping center next door. There's also so many facilities like 3 pools, playgrounds and they even have carwash areas. i love going to their Resident parties which they have every season and they give away a bunch of prizes like $200 gift cards. They are going to have a Halloween Haunted House , like every year, and it's a blast. Lots of food and kids love it.I have been reading some of the bad reviews on here and i have to say that some of these people have some deep rage issues, laying way deeper than just being mad at the Management for not getting their way. Some of them sound like real hate speeches. That's a shame because i had a good experience here for the most part and so have all the neighbors i have talked to in my building and at the parties. I have not heard of anyone having mold issues. I had mildew arround my tub that would be easily cleanable with Clorox, if you do it.I think Slate Creek have it right by having a Resident service Department in teh office which can take care of any issues like maintainance. I had my toilet overflow and they sent someone right away to fix it and then a couple of days later i got a call from the office to make sure that everything was taken care of. One of my friends who recently moved out from here, told me that they only charged her for her carpet to get cleaned, because she cleaned the apartment herself so she got most of her deposit back. I have a hard time believing some of the people who said that they got charged anyways for cleaning, they must have left a mess behind them.Anyways i encourage people to rent here. Slate Creek have large aprtments, nice grounds and much less problems than other apartments i lived in before.

I am one person who did love living there just like you mentioned. I had nothing but positive to say and have very fond memories of living there. My issues didn't come until move out. We moved out of state and that is when we were presented with a cleaning bill for a full clean. We were ones who didn't leave a mess. We were just like you. My review was alot like yours above. We lived in the apartments when they were brand new as well so we knew what they were like before and now. My kids had many friends there. We had lived there before and knew the area and love the schools, close by shopping etc. and all our neighbors were great for about 1 and one half years. We dealt with mold on the window sills in all the bedrooms but we'd clean it off just like you said with Cholorox. Unfortuantely, it wasn't enough to keep my son from developing asthma. The apts. are over 14 years old so unless the windows were all replaced it will keep happening. We lived in building 14 so we had alot of privacy and the apts. backed up to the wetlands so it was very peaceful most of the time, until we began the parties upstairs until 3 am the same night each week. We did call security and they came, but it kept happening anyway. I guess we should have called the police. It wasn't just a little loud but things came flying down from the upstairs balcony into our balcony and we could hear every word people were saying. Most of the time they'd get drunk and yell outside our windows. They would come outside to smoke so they'd stand on the grass outside our bedroom window. Most of the time it was the friends who were the cause of the trouble, but the people who lived there couldn't control their friends. Then there was the music. It was so loud we could sing along with the songs and the walls would boom until 3 am. We tried to turn on our bathroom fan to drown out the noise and tried to convince ourselves its just apartment living and they have a right to a party, but not past the curfew hours in the property lease. We didn't call right away because we felt maybe it was an isolated icidence and we actually got along well with our neighbors in the building. We are a family and needed to get up for school and work the next day. That continued until the day we moved out. We didn't leave the place a mess. I thought that too when I read bad reviews. I even though that of my neighbors as they complained of being charged a full clean too upon move out and they cleaned the place. Maybe it was because we moved out of state that they didn't do the walk thorugh with us while we were there. Since we've lived in apartments our whole married life we knew exactly what to clean and how to get our deposit back. That's been 28 years of apartment living and we've gotten it back most every time up until now. We went according to the list upon move in as to what needed to be cleaned. We always leave a place cleaner than we got it even if we are renting because we have pride in our place and feel it is the right thing to do. We left our apt.top notched clean. I didn't just take my word for what I consider clean, but had 2 other women in there cleaning who are clean freaks. Windows were cleaned, fire place completely cleaned, outside porch and closet cleaned, swept, inside of closets wiped down and touched up painted, walls cleaned, touch up paint, baseboards washed down, mini blinds washed down, everything even behind the refridge and washer and dyer. etc. We had the washer leak so they replaced the floor in there as well as the kitchen just before we moved so it was all cleaned out behind there. So we were quite surprized when we received the bill for a full clean(as if we had left it a mess and didn't bother to clean at all) and it had been signed off as if we never cleaned the place. So if you ever do move out be sure to take pictures and most importantly ask them for a bill before you leave the property and do a walk through on site. We had no trouble with the office people. We liked them all. They weren't bad people, they just couldn't do anything about the parties above. We actually liked our neighbors above us. We just needed to get up early for work the next day so we needed sleep. We had lived in apartments all our lives so we know about how you have to live with noise. We had kids ourselves who made noise. We tried hard to have a good relationship with our neighbors which we did. I agree people shouldn't be so mean spirited when writing their reviews though even if their experience wasn't great. I think people should care about where they live and get involved. Talk directly to the management when you have a problem and keep going back until you get it resolved. Eventually they took the full clean off of our bill, but we also told them we wouldn't pay it. We didn't mind paying for cleaning the carpet as it should be done every 6 months to one year. It was time, but watch out for the little things like carpet stains that were there when you moved in. Take pictures of the stains and date the pictures. We still were charged $25 for a stain that had been there when we moved in. They have that on our move in sheet and move out sheet so it was documented. You as residents have to fight to keep it a good place to live. Yes, my kids and family enjoyed the resident parties there and they went full out really doing a great job. Maybe it's because we moved and live in a better place now that we noticed how it has gone downhill. Maybe that can turn around with people like you who like living there and fight to keep the place clean, grounds clean, good neighbors around you, no parties etc. I think they just can't keep up with the 600 units anymore. We cleaned our apartment entireley ourselves(with 3 other women's help) but maybe it is because we had lived there almost 2 years that we didn't get our deposit back. I think the heads up is to do the walk through with the management. We couldn't do that. They weren't available anytime we could do it. Anyway, enjoy your stay there and learn from us to take pictures upon move out, if you have trouble go to the management directly as we did. Also if you live there 2 years or more they told us they would not charge for painting upon move out. Some people maybe deserved the treatment they get upon move out because they didn't clean at all and left the place a mess, but we weren't one of them and until it happened to us we really didn't believe it could. We thought it was to people who "deserved to be charged" because they didn't take care of their place.

"Resident parties which they have every season and they give away a bunch of prizes like $200 gift cards. They are going to have a Halloween Haunted House , like every year, and it's a blast." Little advice, when trying to impersonate an actual tenant, try not to be so specific with your praise. If you haven't heard or experienced any mold issues, you haven't lived at Slate Creek. Sorry Charlie, this post is fake.

I'm guessing this is the Manager or the Assistant Manager trying to save face from all the pissed off former tenants. Maybe you're right dora27, maybe all us former tenants do have rage issues. Maybes its because someones son developed ASTHMA. Hmm...I haven't had asthma for nearly 11 years, and lo and behold!! I've just been diagnosed with it. Coincidence? Not so much. Maybe if you spent your time WORKING, taking care of tenant issues, delegating properly, instead of making these painfully fake reviews, you'd have less craptastic reviews on this site. But then that would make sense. And as we all know, nothing about Slate Creek makes ANY sense. Bottom line? Do your jobs better!! You're up here talking s^*% about people having rage issues, but I find it pretty hard to believe that ALL these people got together over D&D one night to cook up a conspiracy to write sh*&^y reviews on ApartmentRatings.com!! Dora27, a.k.a. STAFFER-what you're reading here is not rage, but utter frustration with the way you run your company. Put your money where your mouth is and DO SOMETHING if you want better reviews on here. Like take that $200 gift card, and put it towards fixing your place. Priorities dude. Priorities.
