We relocated here from the Silicon Valley and decided to rent at the Terraces before our house was built. At first impression the complex looks great. Met the staff and got turned off. Customer Service isn't exactly their forte even though it requires it. I chucked my first experience as the weekend staff being untrained, young, and green in professionalism.
After we moved in the problems started. We were promised new carpets and upon moving in we saw stains all over the place. We went through 6 bottles of the Resolve Powder to make sure the carpet was clean to our satisfaction. To date, we have not gone barefoot in our own home. That's how grossed out we were!
Second, parking. It's terrible!!!! We even got towed with out parking permit in the windshield!!!! Please warn your guests. Mind you there are just a handful of "visitor" spots in the complex. They will tow you and will not notify you either. You will have to call the City of Roseville Police Department. Roseville PD will then call you back to let you know that the car has been towed.
Third, the maintenance staff tries their very best to keep the grounds clean but some of the residents don't care - they throw fast food drink cups, napkins, tissues, and some don't even pick up after their dogs poop! Quite disgusting.
Fourth, the noise. The apartments are built so thinly that you hear EVERYTHING!!! We, unfortunately, are located in the bottom apartment. We hear everything upstairs. You'd be lucky if you get an older couple living above you. We have young people who are up all night, loud music, loud TV, loud sex...need I go on'
Lastly, second hand smoke travels!!! We brought this matter up to the front office because my daughter and I are asthmatic. They claim that the vents are seperate for each apartments. But the smell of smoke travels through the walls, floors, lighting fixtures, and the plumbing! Their response to us is: It's their home and it's their freedom to smoke if they want to. Well, what about our freedom to breathe in fresh air''!!!
We are waiting for our lease to end and we're heading out. I won't recommend this place to my friends, but I won't bash it either. Take caution. Word of advice: Don't get fooled by the "niceness" of the place.

You should have rented apartment 2512. It's the best one there. No noise no smoke...none of the things you mentioned above. If you use your garage like it's suppose to be used you won't have any problems with parking. We had two cars and never had a problem. Keep in mind the woman who took over...when Rose stopped working there...just had a baby so give them a break. I don't agree with most of what you said. That's just me. I'm so sad we moved. I think the staff is GREAT...and smoke doesn't come through the walls etc. It's coming from outside...and blowing in your place most likely. Good luck and give it a chance. I THOUGHT THE PLACE WAS GREAT THE TWO YEARS I LIVED THERE. Oh and in the apartments over to the far side...they have a huge parking lot and that's where your guest park...they have to walk a small ways...still that's where they park. Cheers.

I did agree with everything you said! I hear everything from the people below me snoring...to having sex. My roommate is the most inconsiderate person and LOUD LOUD LOUD! And also, if your roommate never gives up the garage opener...your screwed. Two of my friends got towed within five minutes of each other. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!

I currently live here and honestly cannot wait for our lease to be up. Although the staff is very nice and the maintenance is exceptional, the noise is definitely a problem (we live downstairs) and even though we complained to the management, nothing has been done. There does seem to be a roach problem that can be temporarily fixed when sprayed, but you must request a spray to see results. The carpets appeared clean when we moved in but obviously existing stains have risen through time. We've only been here 5 months and are hoping we don't get charged from our deposit, we'll see. I also agree with the lack of parking although towing can be avoided if you follow the rules. I have not had a problem with second hand smoke although I do believe our upstairs neighbors smoke outside on their balcony so ventilation is not a problem.
Overall the apartment grounds are kept up, staff is responsive when something is broken and the amentities are good (although we were told the pool is heated which clearly my definition is very different then theirs and the BBQ's are not clean and have about a 50% chance of having propane available). I would just recommend that you rent an upstairs apartment and learn to walk lightly.
