In just want to say I moved in about a month ago and already I am having issues...

Today I was in the shower when the water to the entire building was shut off. Try explaining to your boss that you cannot come in to work because your head is full of conditioner! It does NOT go over well. I solved this by walking to the pool to rinse my hair and brush my teeth, making me at the very least late for work.

I should have known considering a truck that turned out to be a plumber was backing up (with that annoying sound that woke everyone in my apt including the cranky 4 year old) for like 30 minutes right next to our window and then I thought a SWAT team had been sent to our neighbors because I heard the maintenance guys coming for miles and then they were yelling "Maintenance".

Of course I had no idea it would end up being a "Maintenance emergency" considering the truck came at 8 AM and the water went off at 10:30 do you think they could have given the people a heads up'! Any other decent company would. I got a two day heads up at my previous place... Of course being an "Emergency" a 10-20 minute, heck even a 10 SECOND warning would have been OK if I?d known not to get into that shower...

I?m a little worried about what I keep hearing about parking. I have not had those issues yet (having the spot given away) but I practically went psycho when I went to sign my lease and it said no spot in it. The girl went and got one right away but said everyone does get a covered spot. Although I think it is highway robbery that if you decide to pay almost $100 more for a garage you do not get a covered, you forfeit it.

The one issue we did have was parking a bike to the side of the spot, it did leave our neighbors enough space especially considering they have a Ford Escort. But they complained none the less and I have to respect the fact that they pay as much as we do and deserve all the space they paid for. No problem...

I have to say I am appauled at how sloppy this place is built. We put shelves in our laundry room for a pantry (since every other place we ever rented had 2x as much kitchen space) and the walls were off by 1/2 an inch causing me to wonder about the safety of the building earthquake and foundation wise.

To top it off the air conditioning is a joke. If I set it at 74 it turns out to be 74 only in the living area leaving the bedrooms at 90 . I had a similar problem at an apt down in Sacramento (Tuscaro) and it turned out to be because the apts have too small of an air conditioner because they cheaped out in the process of building them.

All in all I don?t feel we will end up fulfilling our entire lease but I am certain of one thing...they will make us sorry we came in the end. It?s going to be one HOT summer...
