I lived here for one year and I was ready to move out after three months. Long hallways and thin front doors make every conversation from every nearby loft very audible and annoying. Plus, you can smell what every neighbor is cooking while walking down the hallways. Wood floors and high heels give every footstep by neighbors the most annoying sound especially when your trying to sleep. Walls are also really thin and you can hear neighbor's TVs and stereos pretty clearly. With all the security and key card access, the place feels like a prison. Too much of a hassle to have friends come over and especially try to park in this busy downtown area. If you want to live in a hotel, this place is for you!

I lived at the 800 J Lofts between 2007 and 2008., leaving very frustrated and sleep deprived after 10 months of my 13 month lease. Everything that was mentioned is true but well understated. I complained to management and the leasing office for six months about noise problems , especially late at night , which prevented me from sleeping well. At first I was told to be patient as they looked into the issues.... which was all just a smokescreen , the noise problems escalated over time as opposed to diminshing. I would have just left much earlier but I was told that if I broke lease I would be responsible for all the unpaid rent until my lease was up.Their scare tactic worked ,I stayed though asked once a month if I could relocate to a differant unit , but was always met with "there isn't anything available that allows pets currently". After time the local management office (Katy and Anthony) started growing impatient with my persistance and told me that there was nothing they could do and these noise complaints were just my "preferance" and not really an issue that they were responsible for. I had enough , contacted a lawyer about my rights and decided to break lease and move out. When I told management that I would be leaving , they suddenly found a new unit for me to move into which was much smaller and just as expensive. I chose to move out. Now I have a huge bill for unpaid rent , management kept (stole) my $1000 deposit and now I am in the process of taking the property management , CIM Group , to court to reclaim my deposit. For what my opinion and experience are worth , DO NOT CONSIDER THE 800 J LOFTS. Managent is wonderful until you sign that lease , than you are on your own.

good god who are these people the golden girls? if you want the privacy and seclusion of your own home, perhaps you should find the means to afoard one. The person complaining about the smell of food cooking made me laugh out loud.

I heard they have a LOT of vacancies because of the noise factor, the fact that there is no pool, and bad management. Not good.
