Bottom of the barrel

I'll start by saying that in the 6 months that I lived here, three people were shot. All I can say on the subject is it's pretty uncomfortable walking the path to your apartment once you've seen it littered with crime scene tape, dead bodies, and CSI hunched over pools of blood left over from the night before. The reviewer who said "it's only a matter of time before there's a shooting" was spot on. I'm going to raise the bar and guess that it's only a matter of time before the place burns down from one of the many tenants barbecuing on their landing.
Aside from triple homicide, standard complaints apply here: noise, filth, bad neighbors and bad management.
Tenants are constantly leaving their trash all over the ground and management's only response has been REMOVING the only trash can in the main common area. Needless to say, the situation has only gotten worse.
I never had a roach problem while I was here, but my neighbors complained about them and I would often see them around neighboring units or on the stairs at night.
Loud children run around unattended and there's always some ridiculous bass coming from somewhere. Between noisy neighbors, the nearby gas station and the Fulton/Hurley intersection, living here is like living in a dirty 24-hour hip hop club. I was constantly amazed at the amount of people who have nothing better to do than sit in a gas station parking lot for a half hour or longer while blaring their insane bass systems and horrible homemade beats. If that wasn't enough, there are also the nightly deliveries to the gas station, where you'll hear truck drivers blaring AM talk radio and slamming their metal shutters starting around 3 or 4 in the morning and lasting for hours. If you're anywhere near the QuikStop side of the complex, don't expect to get any amount of quality sleep.
The unassigned parking fills up quickly and it doesn't help that people here don't know how to park. People will somehow manage to take up two spots and STILL slam their door into your car. Expect lots of dents and scratches, because nobody here will respect your car.
Management is hit or miss, but mostly miss. Most of the staff is friendly when you can get a hold of them, but they have a tendency of closing the office early or at random times throughout the day, and they respond to e-mails or voicemails extremely late or not at all. Maintenance often does not get done, and when you follow up the response is usually "Oh, I thought we fixed that already." I was lied to on a regular basis about maintenance being unable to carry out a work order because nobody was home, even when I'd been home waiting for them all day. I've also been woken up several times by maintenance staff entering without permission.
Doors and windows are not sealed properly and ventilation is poor. Good luck with your gas/electric bills if you plan on running any sort of AC. Upstairs units must also deal with the AC condensation lines dripping muddy water directly into your sink. The drain pipes outside are so full of mud that they won't take on any water, and this place has a bad run with leaky ceilings. If you've ever wondered what it's like to live in a leaky cave that's only accessible by kayak you'll love it. Also don't bother with home phone service unless you don't mind your neighbors stealing it. The phone service panel is usually hanging on by a single screw with exposed wires out in the open -- they don't even try to be discreet about it.
Go somewhere else, and if you absolutely must live here, PLEASE make sure to check Megan's Law first. Management has no remorse about moving you and your family in next door to convicted rapists without thinking twice about it.
