Crime is a real problem. Management does not try to fix it!

I am a resident at American River Commons. In a two month period my vehicle was broken into 3 times. The third time, my car was removed from the property, stripped, and dropped off a few parking stalls from where I initially had parked it. Needless to say, the car was considered to be a total loss by insurance. Furthermore, I am not the only one who has had this problem. My girlfriend has had her car stereo stolen from her vehicle twice in the last six months. These acts of theft are not my main concern. My main concern is in the unwillingness of the property management to act on matters of theft that occur on their property. I understand that crime happens in Sacramento however what I do not understand is why security did not have a report of the incidents leading up to the damage to my vehicle as well as the many others found vandalized on the ARC property. Perhaps the management should consider another security company as it seems the current one does not serve as an effective deterrent to nightly theft. It would also be nice if management took detailed reports of the incidents on their property rather than referring my self or others to the Sacramento police department who will have you file a report online instead of sending out a patrol unit to assess the situation.

What do you expect from a terrible manager like -------- ----. Also the owner is a church groupm, so I would think that a church group would care, but apparently not.

property management taking a report is pointless, they aren't investigators, detectives, policemen or anyone else who has any type of authority against fighting crime. common misconception amongst renters is that landlords should "provide security" or even "act on matters concerning crime" they are just civilians like you and me who go to work each day and do a job. imagine this...you work at pizza hut and a crime occurs in your parking lot, the customer blames pizza hut for the crime and wants them to do something to stop it from happening in the future (which by the way is impossible to do unless you can predict when and where the crime will occur). blaming the managers of the apartments is ludicrous....i don't know anything about this property, but i am in the business.

The reviewer's car problems happened 2 years ago -- is this still a problem? Does management have a response?
