Under Group Interland, this place was not so bad, unfortunately that does not help the fact that the walls are paper thin! You can hear neighbors' conversations - among anything else - through the walls. You can literally hear anyone above you using the facilities. Music' Forget it! You can't tell where it's coming from, it just travels through the walls, and if there's bass involved - you'll never sleep! At one point my neighbor was banging on my wall - thinking it was me''' I called security to complain about the noise, and the fact that I didn't want my neighbor thinking it was me and banging on my wall all night either. Over an hour later, security came knocking on my door - of course by this time the music had stopped and I was finally asleep - he came to tell me he couldn't find any noise, so decided to come wake me up to ask where it had been coming from... I had already told them I didn't know.
At least there was security under Interland... when management changed (Abbot Manco'), we were not advised - it wasn't until I had to call for a maintenance emergency and could not get a hold of ANYONE in the office (never there!) - I called security only to be told they no longer covered Amherst. Although under Interland it wasn't easy getting maintenance (I actually think things went downhill after Angelique left) - toilet issues led me to call and I was told this was not an emergency by one of the staff! It took over 4 days!!!
There was no lighting in our breezeway for MONTHS. I have complained about roof/wall leaks to both mgmt parties - no one seems to care. The gates are rarely in proper working order.
AbbottManco let anyone move in... place has gone downhill since! Loud parties, music, and people in general - the loudest person around is actually a staff member! I feel sorry for any day sleepers. It's hard enough to get sleep here at night!
At one point my room mate was at home during the day - only to be surprised by staff entering the apt and shuting off the water - w/o notice!
Notices in general are a joke! 24 hours''' Yeah Right! Notices on the "day of" when water gets shut off... entry notice after 4pm for the next day... It's really bad.
Only recently have we found out - through word of mouth, not mgmt - that leases aren't being renewed (not that we were going to!) because they are now going to sell these sub-ghetto... excuse me... "luxury living" apartments as condos.
Also, parking is fair at best - if you don't pay for a port or underground, there's usually someone in your "assigned" spot.
I'm SO disappointed... I remember the point in time when I was so excited to be moving here. It has become such a major disappointment.
