A Lot of Money for Very Little Space

This was my very first apartment, and in retrospect it really wasn't all that great. Or rather it was, but it wasn't a very good deal. I moved in with my girlfriend at the time, and the one bedroom units simple are two small to hold more than one person.

The grounds are kept clean but have a terribly bland design, especially the "inner cirle" of apartments. The outer circle, facing all the surface streets, is where all the trees and nicer landscaping is.

The complex is gated, but don't let that fool you: all you have to do is wait for the gate to open when someone leaves and you're in. And this was a BUSY complex: people were coming and going at all hours, so the gate was constantly sliding open. I never had any problems with my car, but my front door was vandalized once and the complex only seemed concerned with cleaning it up and forgetting about it.

The apartments themselves are nice but *tiny*. I eventually moved out because the rates were just too unreasonable (I refuse to pay $750-$800 for a 1-bdrm that's a scant 600 sq. ft.; this is Sacramento, not Boston or San Francisco).

POSITIVES: In unit, stackable mini-washer and dryer (about half the size of a normal one); vaulted ceilings in upstairs unit; walk-in closet; very large deck/balcony; fireplace.

NEGATIVES: tiny, tiny, TINY; pricey.

STUFF I DIDN'T CONSIDER: the complex is close to EVERYTHING; literally, there's two supermarket strip-malls and tons of fast food restaurants just on the other side of the fence, a very short walk away. If having that sort of amenity nearby is important or useful to you, then that would be another big plus to this place.

Recommended' Well, to borrow Thora Birch's line from "Ghost World": this is only for suckers who have no concept of value. They ARE fairly nice apartments. They are also tremendously over-priced, and did I mention tiny' aLKeoXpj3s4OSgrp1trb
