My husband and I lived in these apartments from 2000-2004. We moved here because we were college students and needed a cheap place to live. We got exactly what we expected, a pretty ghetto place. People played their music all hours of the night, you could hear people fighting all the time and maintenance never did their jobs. A good example of the maintenance was when a pipe busted in our upstairs-neighbor's bathroom and our entire bathroom flooded and the ceiling basically caved in. Some maintenance people came in and cut a huge hole in the ceiling and said they couldn't do anything else because they needed to let it "dry out" which is fine, I can understand that. But when they never came back to finish the job (we're talking weeks later) and spiders and other bugs kept crawling out we came to the office to see if someone could come to patch the hole. Several months and work orders later, someone finally patched the hole (without repainting, we had a huge teal spot on the ceiling). When the Sanwalls took over the apartments we had to move out. They were slumlords at best. While saying they wanted to kick the drug dealers and ghetto people out they jacked up the rent and didn't do anything except cosmetic things to make the exterior of the apts look better to lure in more people. After we moved out we received a notice in the mail to pay $1900 for repairs. Listed were things like new counters, paint (which in our contract we wouldn't have to pay after living there 2 years), carpet (which per our contract we wouldn't have to pay after four years), new sink, new blinds etc. They even tried to charge us twice for painting the ceiling. We called a lawyer who tried contacting the apt complex to resolve the issue but the management kept hanging up on them. No one deserves to be treated this way, and if you can avoid it, don't live here!

Untrue, when we gave our 30 day notice Sanwal himself tried showing us other apartments with more bedrooms to try to keep us there.
