They take your application fee then change their policy so you can't get the apt.

What they did was, I and my soon to be roommate Marcellus Thomas looked at an apt there. I asked about having my cat, they said it was OK with a $200.00 deposit. We said OK. We filled out an application for each of us and turned them in with a $50.00 money order for the application fee.
They ran the application but then said they changed there minds about allowing pets. Mind you, neither one of us have any negative renters history. When we asked them about why they changed their minds about the cat they said they had the right too. We said we were going to report this to the BBB and you, and they same back with. "OK we will let you have the cat if you pay two months rent and a $1000.00 deposit." That would come to $3,400.00 even though there is no negative renter history for either of us. We then said they should told us they changed their minds about the cat and have asked us before running the application if we still wanted the apt. They said they did not have to do that.
They said they did not have to give us the $50.00 application fee because they did approve us but changed their minds about the cat.
We feel they should have called us and said they had changed their minds about the cat and then asked if we still wanting them to go on with the application presses. They did not do that. We feel they get the application fee and then change what THEY said to keep the fee and yet not rent to someone OR make them pay a ton of money to move there even though they said the application was approved.
I hope you can post this so that others will not be ripped off like we were.

I lived in capitol court apartments for about 9 months with my boyfriend. I had one apartment manager, but then he got fired, he was an old man, who was creepy, but anyways, then the new manager is this nice woman named Jennifer who is helpful and awesome. We moved out only because we found a house with backyard in Tahoe Park, but we got our full deposit back with no problem. These apartments are great, I recommend them for any student because the 16th street light rail is literally in the backyard and it's easy for school access or anywhere you need to get to downtown. Loved it there!
