I've lived in Capitol Place with my husband since August 2005. We are both graduate students in Davis, and we have no children. While I can agree that management can be kind of stupid about some things and I have seen them make minor clerical errors, it was never anything significant, and I was always able to resolve things with no tension whatsoever. I pay my rent on time every month and so far I have only had a handful of interactions with the maintenance staff, but overall my experience with management has been minimal but quite positive. I feel that it is a very safe complex (apart from some shady and noisy residents, perhaps the same people who are leaving these negative comments). The grounds are very well kept, the maintenance is fast and communicative, the rent is reasonable for the quality (esp. compared to Davis), and the location with respect to I-80 or downtown Sac is fabulous. I feel safe and happy living in Capitol Place, and I've often recommended it to my friends. The only complaint that I have (apart from some dummy neighbors who thankfully moved out) is the pet deposit-- $400 for one cat!'!' It's somewhat ridiculous.

Perhaps you missed the fire? The large gang fight? The rapid changes in staff?
