After moving out, i didnt get any of deposit back ($400)

i think when i signed they said $200 would go to carpet cleaning and paint, so i was expecting atleast 200 back for the following reasons

1. we never wore shoes in doors
2. no parties
3. mopped and cleaned regularly

i called and they said i actually owed them $200 more for cleaning, which makes absolutely no f.. sense

they even tried to charge me for a leaky shower head, and water damage on the window, that was there when i moved in a year ago, noted down.. said someone will come and take care of it.. of course no one did.

i asked for someone to send me a copy of all the charges, they said they would.. and i havent ever received anything by mail.

every apartment i rented in the past gave me my FULL deposit back.. my last apartment was in bad shape from a bad roommate.. dirty stained carpets and so on.. and i still got my entire deposit back

so if you think you are getting a great "move in special", think again.. they are keeping your deposit to make up for that great special.

also.. this place is WAY overpriced to be in the middle of the ghetto.. lots of ghetto people come in to go swimming, staff is constantly rotating.. the only good thing about the place was the free coffee and lattes

This was so posted by an employee it's not funny. This place is really a hell hole with a dangerous gang living behind it. Looks great from the street, but it's a different world on the inside.

For sure pride. Not to mention its illegal in the state of california to keep parts of a deposit without having documented charges.

No need to be mean to people posting on here. Everyone is entitled to thier own opinion. That being said, I have had an overall good experience with Capitol Place. The apartments are very nice and grounds kept up well. However, when we first moved in we had terrible neighbors - we were complaining to management every other day until they finally left. I am unsure whether they moved or were forced to leave. It has been relatively quiet since then, the occasional party upstairs, until tonight when some punk a** kids came and threw rocks at my car and put a chip in my windshield. Too bad garages are soooo expensive b/c this is ridiculous that it is 2AM and I am still awake worrying about the safety of my car in the "gated" parking lot.

My gosh guys! It's like highschool....no one wants to tell the principle.. they want to pass notes back and forth! I can't fix anything on the outside of the community, or who lives in the houses behind the community... but I can solve noise complaints, or parking problems. Come talk to me if you are upset about something. I'm happy to help you, but I don't know who you are, or where to start unless you tell me. I put a holding deposit on my credit card with Leslie and my daughter's application was denied they refuse to return my 200 holding deposit, they are rude and Voni who is the managers tells me lies, now I'm in the process of suing since it's been 1 month and 1/2 they refuse to call me back said they only deal with the corporate office through emails, this is such a joke.
