I've lived here for about 1-1/2 years. I've seen this complex go from having some "shady" people living here, to a higher class of tennant, and back down. Now is as bad as I have seen it since I moved here. There are many reasons for this including the high number of newer complexes going into the area. The complex is vastly overpriced for the demographic that lives here and the accomodations. They seem to beleive that they should be able to get more than the place is worth.
Don't even try to work with anyone in the office, you'll want to pull your hair out. USELESS!!!

Rather ironically, when I moved in the staff was one of the strong points. You could walk in and almost be attacked by a smiling face and someone willing to chat about anything, complex related or not. They would nearly force a Latte on you, just so that they could make one. The Sunday AM brunch had a wide variety of food and people took joy in presenting it. All of this is gone, I'm not even sure that they have brunch anymore.

They do, however, offer a monthly renewal dinner for those of you who may want to visit a group of people who see you as nothing more than a checkbook. Besides, why would you want to renew' The cost of a lease at the complex is just going down and they don't care how good a tennant you may have been, if your lease says that you pay X and new tennants can walk into the complex and pay 3/4 as much, guess what... you'll be paying X for the remainder of your lease no matter how good your credit is or how bad the other person's is.

The staff now is consantly changing and there is no continuity. Don't ask for anything special. There is a complete lack of customer service (No matter what they tell you they are trying to sell; leases, gargages, etc. so they SHOULD service their customers/tennants). All they want is your name on a lease and your rent for the duration of it. Other than that you are of no use to them. They'll make sure that you know it and fell that way too, don't worry.

The apartments themselves are decent, but not worth what they charge. The complex is pretty small and kinda loud. There have been plenty of nights that I have had to listen to my neighbors "get it on". Plus there are train tracks across the street which you'll hear pretty regularly. There are closed-circuit camera but I have not heard or seen of any of them doing any good. The gate is almost always broken so it might as well not even be gated. Luckily, we finally have security guards on foot all night long.

I haven't had any problems with the maintanence staff. They seem to do a good job, assuming that they get the work order. That's another battle all by itself.

Basically, for a complex with a large management group I would expect there to be a high level of management and service. You won't find that here. Once you sign your lease you become nothing more than a check and they'll spend every month that you are living here trying to get you to sign-up for another year.

Then again, if you're single, can afford the rent and care about nothing more than being near DT Sac you might consider this place. You might also consider one of the 200 other places that are in the area. I'd start with one of them if I were you. There are plenty of places in Sac that you can get for this price and not deal with the absurdity of this place.

What you state here is very true; Especially the part about the quality of the tenants. We are currently on the downswing of that one. I observed many apartment vacancies for many months (from 4-6 months) before they "attracted" this last load of new tenants. I do not go out at night, as I do not feel safe--at all. Yes, there is a security guard on foot at night, but did you know he leaves at 2 a.m.? Most crimes happen between 3-6 a.m., according to statistics. I have lived here the same amount of time as you have and I am SORRY I renewed my lease. Now I have to suffer for quite a few more months. I'm out of here as soon as my lease is up...
