I never lived here, and I'm glad I don't. After talking with the Yolo County sheriff's department, I have no desire to ever reside here. For starters, the dispatcher at the sheriff's department told me that this is NOT a safe area to live in out of all the areas in West Sacramento. (The dispatcher recommended Southport area for those of you interested in West Sac) Second, I was told there were 20 incidents at this complex since August! Five incidents in August, seven in September, and eight in October! Even though the dispatcher said none of the incidents were marked as theft, there were a number of them that reported "suspicious behavior" or a "suspicious person" walking around the complex.

Also, I was dumb enough to not check this info out before putting down my deposit and application fee. But the good side (for me at least) was that the management at this complex let my application sit for an entire week before doing anything, so I put a stop payment on both of my checks before they could cash it. To this date (nearly 3 weeks later), I haven't even heard from the management AT ALL about leasing there. With that kind of poor customer service and lazy attitude about actually doing THEIR JOB, I lucked out in not getting sucked in, billed for my deposit & application fee, and stuck in a lease. I can also attest to the fact that on the number of occasions I went to check this place out and left after office hours the gate was NEVER working.

I have no reason to lie about this apartment community, especially since I don't even live there. If anyone doubts my comments, please, please, PLEASE call the sheriff's department to verify about the number of incidents at this complex. There are better places to live than at Capitol Place.
