We have lived a year now and wanted to get a downstairs apartment. We had to fight with the management to get a downstairs place then they charged us a $200.00 fee to move. When we moved out of the upstairs place they wanted to charge us over $600.00 for the cleaning because there was a little dust (there words) on the mini blinds, some dirt in the tracks on the sliding glass door, 3 small spots on the stove, and some food crumbs in the refridge in a crevis in the front of the fridge. They want to charge $300.00 to spot paint a couple of areas in the closet and baseboards. I think when they did the walk thru the lady was on her hands and knees. It is automatic they will charge you $80.00 for carpet cleaning even if you have it done. The management is very rude and except for one of the ladies(Andrea). She is always very helpful and polite. I have had ant troubles when I lived on the 3rd floor. The people that lived below me had a teenage son and he always had his friends over sitting on the steps smoking pot and drinking beer and peeing in the breezeway and when you complain they told me i should go talk to the parents of the teen. Security is only on site from 7pm until around 2am. And if you still decided to move in here Do Not Get an Apartment close to the bar across the street. The music is so loud and there are fights over there all the time and the cops are always there and management will do nothing about it nor will they tell you about it. Make sure if you move here when doing your walk thru you check every little thing. If not they will charge you when you move out.

Thank you for your input. I read your article. On these words I think that this is a place that I would not like to live in. Especially since staff is not courteous. Maybe it should be reported to the housing authorities, there are regulations that protect renters from this kind of things. Also maybe a phone call to the main headquarters is in need to let them know what is going on and do they want to lose more tentants.

I agree with the negative reviews! I fought tooth and nail to get my deposit back and did after calling corporate EVERYDAY for 3 months! The manager at the time, Jennifer, literally told me that the cleaning fees were non-refundable and that is illegal. We were on hands and knees cleaning our place and it was spotless. Then they tried to charge us nearly $400. The regional manager apologized profusely for our problems but was horrible about returning calls. So all I have to say about the positive review is: just wait till you move out. But I did love the apartment I was in that was not on the street or near the bar. The management is just HORRIBLE and the whole corporation is CROOKED. If they get $400 out of every tenant (b/c I bet most of them don't take it far enough to get it back) then they are really racking up! So in response to the original reviewer: FIGHT IT! get your money back b/c if you keep calling they will give in!

i see things in that place have not changed. i lived there for almost 2 years and when the airhead leasing agent showed me an apt across the street from the bar you talk about, she presented it as "the foreground to watching the fireworks at raley field on the 4th of july." my response was that i was NOT about to live in an apt whose patio door opened to a view of that ghetto honky tonk. give me a break. hey, at least the security guard shows up now. showed up only for about 3 months when i was there--until they found him snoring away in the exercise room at 2 am. they got rid of him and never replaced him. keep in mind that at this time, the so-called security gate was open 24 hours a day. this was a big point, as they advertised as a "beautiful, secure, gated community." what a joke. we had very scary characters walking through 24 hours a day and sometimes broke into tenants' parked cars in the parking lot. of course, they ignored that too. DONT BOTHER CALLING OR TRYING TO CONTACT THE CORPORATE OFFICE. they dont care and they do not return calls, faxes or even certified letters. i could never get a response the entire time i lived there. those of you looking to rent at capitol place apts---DO NOT DO IT!!!---there is a real reason why you see these complaints are consistently posted on this site. i feel so strongly about the way i was treated while there that i still get these alerts just so i can keep tabs on it and occasionally post a response. this is because i wish to warn people about this place. it is a nightmare. AGAIN--DO NOT RENT HERE. YOU WILL LIVE TO REGRET IT--

These are hilarious! First of all, its your own fault for not moving into an apartment on the first floor in the beginning and I would never move into an apartment that is on the street. Already knowing that... guess what?! I live on the first floor and nowhere near the street! Thats just common sense!! Wow! I like how the person above is still writing reviews and doesn't even live there anymore! The "new" security guard is there and I always see him outside and checks the weight room once in awhile. As for the gate it has NEVER been broken for more than 2 days and that happends like once every 6 months!!! I don't see "scary" characters walking through the complex... I rarely see anyone! People mind their own business and go straight to their apartments. I love this place and so does my roommate!! We love that we're close to downtown and all major freeways... We have never had anything to complain about and we never had to hassle with the office staff and I've lived there over a year. 2-3 negative tennants out of 100 is a pretty good statistic. You can't make everyone happy especially the one's who seem to be hard to satisfy. Let me remind you that this is an apartment complex and not luxury condos. You get what you pay for... I'm speaking for the majority of the tennants who don't have to post comments on here because they enjoy living at Capitol Place and have nothing to complain about!

I agree with the first two comments above. This place was a joke. We used to live here and broke our lease because of all the crap that would happen across the street with the bar and management. The only person we never had an issue with was Andrea who I believe should be the manager of the place. Everyone else they put in place there to run is a joke. I too had tried calling the ??corporate number?? to complain and get issues resolved but of course it??s a number where you end up leaving a message and they never call you back. I researched and looked at the better business bureau and behold I found their REAL CORPORATE OFFICE NUMBER and have called them and gotten my issues resolved. For some reason none of the staff ever give out the honest contact information. Heres the info: Name: American Property Management Phone: (425) 635-0059 Fax: (425) 709-7215 Address:110 110th Ave NE Ste 550 Bellevue, WA 98004-5854 I hope this helps any current residents. And word to the wise for any potential residents DO NOT RENT HERE!
