Emerald Place seems infamous for charging off of your deposit-- even if you left the place spotless. At first, I thought they were allowed to do this, but later, I saw that it is illegal to charge for normal wear and tear in the state of California. If you want to lose at least half of your deposit (that is minimum, considering you are as clean as a whistle), then go to this apartment. They will charge you for things that we would normally think they could get away with, such as "painting", "carpets", and then an ambiguous "general clean". Also, the management is horrible. They are impolite. They don't even say "thanks" or "good-bye". They are over-restricting immature girls who haven't grown up yet. They don't allow people to own satellite dishes (and will charge you for its removal), and will charge you if you leave trash outside of your door in a small bag because you are waiting until you have time to take it to the dumpster. They are nice/pretty apartments, but you'll be paying the price later on. If you enjoy being controlled and blamed for everything, these are the apartments for you.
