Hi all,
I stayed in this apartment for almost 6 months. When we moved in the management was very nice. I liked the way these people talk. And i was impressed a lot and i joined in this apartment.we moved on end of the month and we received a bill worth $25 for utilities for just 2 days.the next month utilities bill was $60 for hot water. We r 2 members and i wonder how 2 people can use so much of hotwater. The people in the ground floor used to fight for every reason in the night. They vacated in 1 month and we were happy for 3-4 weeks. The new people who moved in were students and every week end was horrible for us. lots of disturbance, we hardly sleep in the night during weekends. We have decided to vacate the place. When we joined we took month-month base by paying 825 bugs where others used to pay some 700 when on contract. When enquired they said we have to give 60 days notice even if we r in month-month base. Somehow we searched another apartment and gave 60 days notice to fairlake. when we went to new apartment to pay the advance they said they r not going to give us the apartment as when called to fairlake the management people said we have 1 year contract. when enquired with fairlake the answer is "may be some mistake". So, i again gave them 60 days notice and found the other apartment. I liked this apartment this apartment month-month, no utility bills every month and very good maintainence.

just feel lucky you didnt sign a 6 month lease. my roomates and i thought we did but it turns out they tacked on another month just for the hell of it. when i asked why they would do that, they said it was quite normal for 7 month leases. yet if you look on the website, they claim only 3, 6, 9, 12 or month to month leases. nothing on there about 7. very shady business practices

Wow.... that's deceptive. I wonder if you can sue them. I've never ever heard of a 7-month lease.
