it's an expensive ghetto

Fountains was fairly quiet when I moved here, and I have little to complain about with the people who work in the office--they've tried to be as helpful as possible under the conditions. However, if you're considering moving here, be prepared for the noisy parties at night, screaming adolecent drunks, people urinating fountains from balconies, and a ssecurty patrol that seems to join in on these frat parties. It says renovation 2007, but honestly what really going on is constant drone of construction, compressors, jack hammers. The poor residents who live in these areas don't get a break as the contacters are "Always Behind" on implied completion dates. Construction storage has taken over a good part of a parking lot, so you'll be forced out to the road or have to pay. It's an embarrassment and an eyesore when you have to bring company over, dodging shut of areas, having to deal with broken elevators and haphazard conditions. The renovation has been going on for one and a half years, and will continue probably as long or if not longer than the Iraq war has gone on.For rents that are high..the quality of life is poor. So when you think of the Fountains, think ghetto, think frat party, think sketchy security, think about homeless walking through the well coiffed grounds begging for money, think hearing loss. There have been violent crimes, assaualts, at one of the front gates, and during the State Fair there was a shooting near the premisis. The same evening and one of the roofs of one of the buildings caught caught fire. It was up to high for the gents that relieve themselves from the balconey to put it out I guess.
The monetary concessions are miniscule for the "inconveniences" that will shake the whole building like a 6.0, scattering debris, creating a vortex of dust. Be prepared to go to Costco to purchase a pallet of Pledge. If I knew what was to come, I'd have never moved here. T
The front office, to their credit, is responsive and polite, and maintence is pretty good. They're stuck here for the time being, as are residents caught in a lease, pawns to coporate neglect, and upper level lies. So remember, when and if you do decide to move here (and hopefully you do not make that mistake) and you are dissatisfied, just remeber that your frustration and complaints are ultimately aimed at a corporation, and a corporation is a "thing" and not a human. They can't even utter the words, "oops ,my bad," or "oh well, whatever." If the corporation did quite impossibly become human and had to live in the mess that it has created (which the tenants will pay for while it's being done and when it's finished )it would move, or probably use their one of their slavishly devoted attornies to file a suit. Or maybe charge others high rents to bail them out. Hmm, that rings a familiar bell. My advice is to look for a different place, a different alternative, rather than getting hosed by the Fountains. (I just can't get those balcony boys off my mind for some reason). This is one of the better spots in Arden so they say. If you buy that and decide that this is the place for you, the next time you hear it raining, just make sure it is.

ive lived here for over 6 months love it i dont live near the construction area there are never any homeless people walking around asking for money i never saw any fires and i havent seen much construction parking is a lil extra money but i really feel safe here and its never been loud ever in the time that ive been here i've tried to find parties around but i cant find any Honestly i really do think this place is amazing way relaxing ps my elevator works just fine
the only reason why people wouldnt want to live here is probably because of annoying people like that The ones that have nothing better to do with their life but complain

Hi! I just moved out of the fountains and i honestly liked it. I have to agree with everything that you said about it being an expensive ghetto. The parties i never had a problem with tho. I heard them, but most the time i would just go over and join in on the fun. I did never see any crime, but i heard about it often and also saw cars broken into, crazy ex girlfriends gone nuts breaking out of rooms... weird ----. BUT i did love my apartment and the management, just not the location of the complex and the construction that started at 8 am.
and you anonymous person who responded, what this person said was all true. People should be more respectful at night with the noise. a note, or something to let people know that there will be a party going on. But they have every right to their opinion. This person didnt lie about anything, everything they said was true and not trying to complain, just being truthful.

Hi
I lived there almost 3 years and I'm moving out. I agree with athom1985. I wouldn't say "ghetto" though. The landscape is really nice and the units well designed (at least the one bedroom).
People in office are usually very nice and Erin, the manager, very serious and helpful. But like says athom1985, it's owned by a corporation, so they really don't care about you once you signed.
It is very noisy at night and the construction are a nightmare. Not speaking about the dust that flies around...
Last day I called the security at 4am, some drunk people were yelling in the pool. They were sorry to tell me that the Fountains reduced their on site-time and that they are not present at night anymore...
Alll in all, my advice is: don't move in!
