Terrible Apartments that promise the good life and never deliver

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2008
I have been in my apartment for a few years at Granite Point. When I first started to live here my rent was under $1000.00. I have a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment. I was told that it would be no problem gettinga garage and that i would immediately be on the list and not removed until i got the garage for the extra fee each month which i said i would more than happily pay. I HAVE NEVER BEEN GIVEN A GARAGE even after more than a dozen requests. I am always told that there are none. Funny that, i have a brand new neighbor downstairs.... upon moving in they got a garage! I am the longest living resident in my entire building... and since garages are assigned by building... well you get the picture.
In the time I have lived here it is funny that every time it is time to renew my lease i get the "housing prices have gone up in the area. when you renew your rent is going to go up." Yet, new signer's are paying way less than i am. Funny how they care more about getting people in then keeping us. Rarely anyone is here very long. All of my neighbor's hate the apartment, and more important the staff is terrible and very rude. I have had several run in's. Including my dishwasher breaking. They sent the maintence guy out, he didn't know anything, said he fixed it. the very next wash it flooded onto my carpet (they better not think of charging me as i reported it) so then they sent out his manager. his manager said his employee didn't really know what he was doing. that was apparent to me when he spent less than 5 minutes to fix it and was on his cell phone on a personal call with his family while he was here. Its hard to fix things and talk at the same time for him.
Next. the quality of the apartment is terrible. The base boards are barely placed on the wall and when they painted it it looks like they used a huge roller because the paint is all over the walls around the baseboards and barely any cocking in the corners leaving them open. my fridge has had a broken shelf since we moved in, the microwave has broken paneling... my tile had huge stains on it. the worst is that the people who lived here before us had cats. i can tell because whenver we run the shower the room has the stench of it. you can smell it in the corner where they had it all the time. we can hear our neighbor's always. i have a newborn. our downstairs neighbors are ALWAYS partying. right now as a matter of fact. its wednesday afternoon. our floor vibrates and my newborn can never just take a nap uninterrupted. we hear them argue all the time as well. our car has been broken into as has many of our neighbors cars. my car is ruined from all of the sap of the trees as is everyone elses. maybe they should have picked a different tree' or maybe not plant so close to parking'
the upsides to the apartment' we have a nice view. we do like walking around the pond by the apartment with our daughters. we feed the ducks, because after living here like we have, we know they dont migrate away.. so we started to feed them. there are a lot of parks around the area, and its located next to many great stores and restaurants. everything nice i have to say is about stuff once you leave the gates of the apartment.
my rent is now nearing $1400.00 per month. for a 2 bed 1 bath. they said that housing has gone up in the area. funny how i went to give my notice and the new person is paying $1035 for my squarefoot apartment. huge difference.
We have never had a problem with an apartment before. when our friends come to visit they all comment on our crappy apartment.
