The nickname is well deserved.
The advantages of living here are:
*The cops know your address. They are frequently out here.
*Late night shopping for used power tools. It may be 2:00 in the morning, but some cracked out druggie will knock on your door to sell you "his" drill.
*Easy access. Although Hackberry is a gated community, this only means the property is in possession of gates. When working, the vehicle gates are only closed at night. The pedestrian gates remain fairly consistently broken and allow the aforementioned power tool salespeople easy access.
*Educational. There is a way to raise your rent during a lease. This place changes your share of the water/sewer/trash bill while you are stuck in a lease. My share was changed twice during my lease. Now some third party called "Ista" charges you what they feel like charging you. You have no say in this matter. This raised my $550 a month to $550 plus $34.46. This is on top of pg&e and smud.
In short, if you have a need to buy drugs, power tools, or whatever your neighbors don't lock up, this apartment complex is ideal. My apartment will be available shortly.

This apartment place was bad in 1996 also with alot of crack homes and the property manager ddi nothing because they wanted their money. Than the DEA came in a busted aprts, fined owners and than cleaned up the aprtments again untill agian renting to low - life people and the cycle began again. I was tired of working hard and paying rent to slum, these places should be burned they only cause havoc to a neighborhood that used to be nice.
