Yes the rent is cheap, but it's NOT worth it! Pay the extra money for a safe and quiet place to live.

After you have paid for damages to your vandalized car it will equal out to the amount you would have paid to stay in a nice, secure place where druggies and drug sellers don't frequent. Most neighbors are on Section 8 and don't work, stay up until god awful hours and create all kinds of havoc. Construction is shoddy, not up to date and generally poor with dog poop and garbage strewn about the premises. There was a lot of noise from frequent parties with bass shaking entire buildings. Neighbors scream outside your front door as there are NO BALCONIES for smokers or even a place for your BBQ. Since a lot of people smoke in this complex they smoke on the front door stoop and the smoke drifts into your apt. Since there is no central air and heat there is a hole in the wall for an A/C unit, leaving cracks in the wall for noise to seep through while you are trying to watch tv and relax, which is nearly impossible. If you were lucky enough to have one day of peace and quiet it was something you were extremely astonished by, literally.

This was the worst place I have ever lived in my life. I was scared and depressed to be here. Please stay away, especially if you are a young single woman, you are in danger here! There have been helicopters with search lights directly above the apt and I have heard from neighbors that there were guns found on the premises by the police. I wouldn't doubt if murders have occured here due to the drug dealers in the area.

First and foremost, this is a place you would NOT want to raise children. If you value your quality of living stay away from Hackberry Apartments!
