Pros: Lots of grass/trees, small backyards, single level on some, incl mine (no upstairs neighbors), well-kept grounds, convenient laundry, quiet, allows pets, responsive maintenence
Cons: Bad neighborhood (police helicopters with searchlights fly over at nights), crime (cars broken into repeatedly, mail stolen repeatedly -- and lack of communication/responsiveness by apartment personnel re: crime), no security gate.
Peeve: I have a patio backyard -- would love to fill it with grass and flowers, but no sprinkler system. It's broken, and management says it costs too much to repair it, even though I have offered to foot the bill . . .
and I live next door to the messiest, smelliest, nastiest people . . .
