I've read a few of the reviews and I'm pretty surprised, I even had to look back to make sure it was the right apartment complex. The only thing I can think of though is that the dates of those reviews are pretty old.

Noise is non-existant. No complaints when we've cranked up our tv or had friends over. You can barely hear the fountain right outside your room when you close the window.

There ARE insects, but it's nothing worse than living at my old place really. Comes with the territory.

The office staff has been superb, they worked with me and shaved off almost 500 dollars in move-in costs/rent because I work with kids and qualified for their "habitat heroes" program. The home-ownership program is GREAT, 30% of your monthly rent goes toward an equity for a house.

There's a ton of wildlife, ducks, geese, squirrels, supposedly deer often wander up from the lake/river/creeks but I haven't seen any. There are fish and crawdads in the lakes/ponds. With all these birds though there's really very little "sign" of them if you know what I mean. The grounds are VERY well maintained.

You get your own pest control which comes out weekly. We had an ant problem when we first moved in and until the pest control guy came out the office provided us with ant control products free of charge which actually fixed the problem.

One thing I was surprised to hear was that people were saying parking was scarce... here in 2006 I can say that's so backwards it's almost funny. There is parking EVERYWHERE. Sometimes the non-covered parking spots are closer than my covered spot. There seems to be about 3 uncovered spots for every car, I've lived here a couple months and have yet to not find a parking spot immediately, my friends the same.

The gym is a bit small, but they have about a dozen very modern machines, and it's free.

I've seen the security truck drive through the parking lot at least twice every day and that's just when I'm outside to see it.

When we first moved in our AC and hot water heater were both off, I called it in and they said they'd send someone when they could. This kinda spooked me originally because that could mean days. However 20 minutes later there was a knock at the door and one of their maintenance guys hooked us all up.

The lakes are very well maintained, I was reading about this "Stagnant swamp" claim, but I fail to understand how it's possible. They keep the water "medicated" to prevent any form of bacteria or slime or whatever from growing and have 6-10 foot fountains moving the water from sunrise to sunset.

In any case, my roomie and I are absolutely in love with the apartment and love bringing friends over just to show off how much better our place is than theirs.

I must admit for just a resident you are laying it on a bit thick. I've read the other reviews and people seem to make the same points. Could you be part of the office? It sure seems like a fake review to me.

I have lived at Hidden Lake for over two years now and find very little truth in this rating. I agree that this must be posted by management, since there seem to be more negative aspects of living here than positive ones.
