I came to Jefferson Commons after spending a year in the dorms at CSUS. Compared to the horror of the dorms, JC is a great place. I myself am in a four-bedroom apartment.

You really do get quite a lot here--washer and dryer in your apartment, high speed internet, some sort of TV service (I don't usually watch, so I can't really comment), pool and hot tub in the complex, shuttle service every 15 minutes to CSUS... and I challenge you to find a four bedroom, four bathroom apartment anywhere else. I personally like having my own bathroom, thank you.

As some others have commented, many of the complaints are from students who have no experience with the world of apartments--students who complain when they aren't allowed to cause noise disturbances with their parties, and such. If you want to be able to be a nuisance to others, then Jefferson Commons (or any other apartment complex) is not the right place for you.

Office staff is slow at times, but they are friendly if you are friendly to them. (I have to wonder what sort of attitude was put forth by the reviewers who complained about the office staff...)

Personally, I have only one complaint, and that is the price. At $500 per person, this four-bedroom apartment costs $2000 per month total. This is a bit extreme, though still much, much cheaper than the dorms.

(Edit: As another has noted, also worth considering is the fact that the lease is rather binding... it lasts a full year and has no way out except to find someone else to take your place.)

My advice is this--make sure you explore your options before signing with Jefferson Commons. It's not a bad place, but knowing your choices can't hurt.
