Hell No!

I've lived here for over a year and I can list everything good and bad about this complex. The side that I live on is right next to Country Club Lanes, a 24 hour bowling alley. Needless to say, I have to listen to drunken idiots screaming and laughing and blasting their ghetto rap in their cars with the bass up so high my entire building vibrates, all night, every night. At the back side of the complex is Emigh's Ace Hardware, and I feel sorry for the people who live in those buildings because they have to listen to "Steve, call on line two" on the pager system all day long. At the other side of the complex is a nice, quiet residential neighborhood, whose garbage trucks show up at 6 am (same on my side) and reverse out of the cul de sac screaming BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! for fifteen minutes. This was BEFORE the construction started, which is the real nightmare. Right this minute I am being serenaded by hammering outside my front door. Construction crews start at 8 am and last until around 5 or 6 pm. They tore down all of the gray cedar shake siding and left first floor patios completely open to the parking lots, and our buildings looking like something out of Eastern Europe. Now the new siding is going up and it is unattractive and cheap looking. I've been watching the construction guys nailing it into the walls, piece by piece. I am often woken up by sounds of drilling in the wall behind my pillows. They have shut my water off TWICE while I was in the shower, with NO previous notice. The aluminum frame windows, which is what REALLY needed to be replaced, are dirty and old and single pane, so although I hear very little from my neighbors, I can hear everything going on outside, including the crazy old lady who walks around the parking lot at 6 am screaming in latin, and the cop cars when they come to put a bag over her head and drive her away. And she lives here. One of the many 'colorful' trash that inhabit this place. I went swimming in one of the pools lately and found a tumbleweed of gray hairs floating along the bottom of the pool and a crumpled up pair of women's undies. I won't even mention the syringe. We used to have beautiful grassy knolls outside of our building. It's all dead and yellow now. They cut down a ton of trees that offered shade for visitor parking. They've set up their construction headquarters on a big chunk of the visitor parking. The laundry rooms always have at least one broken washer or dryer. I have had a LOT of clothing stolen from them. Our car was broken into and the radio stolen. The gate on our side has been broken for nearly a year. It just sits open all the time.
On the other hand, I love the inside of my apartment because it is spacious and has vaulted ceilings. The maintenance people are really nice and get the job done. The people in the office are friendly and polite. That's about all I like about this place. There has been petitions passed around demanding three months free rent for tenants, but nothing has happened. I heard they are actually raising the rent. I'll be gone to some other craphole apartment complex by then.
