Hey everyone, I just emailed apartment ratings.com to let them know that the property's name is now Kensington Apartments. Hopefully we can continue to hold them responsible for their actions.

Yes, you need to take them to court ASAP. I sued the old company last year in March and I won $1,600. GO down to the small claims court and file.

No offense, but they are not doing anything that they are not supposed to do. It's their property, you don't own it. The gym is an amentity, you are not entitled to that in your lease, they don't have to have it if they don't want to. As far as the construction, it's private property, they can do what they see fit with their property. You won't get very far going to court, they've not done anything wrong or illegal.

There is a gym addendum in the lease, as well as pool addendums. In my opinion they are both implicit parts of the agreement if signed before the problems arose. I have already been recording issues (albeit not all of them) since February of this year. I am very willing and interested in starting a class action suit. I have already prepared a compensation schedule as a discussion point for my own conversations with management - it is a spreadsheet with adjustable time amounts (since this problem seems to have no end). I come up with about $1,100 in quantifiable expenses to date with other potential costs in addition to that.

To the person who posted that they can do what they want with their property...1) Rent was based on the amenities etc., it is implied that the rental agreement is a 2 way street and that they will hold up their end of the deal...keep amenities in good working order 2) They cannot do what they want as far as "remodeling" They should have gotten permits and they should NOT have hired illegals. People cannot do whatever they want just because it is their property. They are also obligated to the tenants to provide a safe and clean environment as well as the tenant must live up to their end of the rental agreement This place is a total joke.
