If the police tape doesn't deter you from moving in, and you don't mind having unwelcome guests, then by all means you have found your home.

It started with the neighbor kids downstairs that played soccer for 12 hours in the grass outside my balcony. They would wear soccer cleats and scream "GOAL" at least a couple dozen times a day. I adapted by taking my shoes off before stepping inside my apartment with the light-beige, brand-new carpets. It was also very helpful to find commercial ear plugs if you wanted to sleep in past 8 am on a weekend.

Then we had the feeling that we were not alone. It started with a snide remark by my boyfriend's sister when she mentioned she saw something "scurry" across the linoleum. We of course didn't believer her until later that week when I took a pot out of the cupboard and found about four roaches in it. By this point I was furious. I specifically asked management when I applied about any pest problems and they assured me that there were none.

Usually I would move out immediately, but I hauled ass down to the office and requested a pest-control inspection. After about four services rendered, I realized that the cockroaches were not going to leave easily. I was getting too used to the morning ritual of grabbing a rolled-up newspaper and holding it over-head in swat position before turning on the kitchen lights.

By this point, I had it: The loud neighbors' kids, the beer cans on the former lawn, parking our second car in china, cockroaches in everything. I thought that things couldn't be worse. Oh, was I wrong.

A couple days later I went to get the mail and noticed ten police cars and a CSI van parked on the driveway. When I went to check it out, they had police tape surrounding the two front apartments and cops were in gloves carrying out a shotgun (a supposed murder weapon). If this doesn't convince you to look elsewhere, I don't know what will!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE look elsewhere. It is a cheap apartment for a GOOD reason!!!

I have lived in these apts for 4 years.. yes they do have a cockroach problem in the summertime.. They're always outside on your patio... never in the house. If they are in your house then you are nasty living!! That doesn't excuse the management from doin their job in getting rid of them. Better than having mice!!
