Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003
Much like the first two reviewers, we had constant problems with the management staff and trying to get repairs to the apartment was a babysitting job. We had various problems with our apartment. The air conditioning broke on one of the hotest days in June and it took them THREE DAYS to get it FIXED, the apartment was 90 degrees and we were expected to deal with their time frame. Then we found out that the air conditioning units were not hooked up properly and that we were actually paying for our neighbors air conditioning and they were paying for ours. NO APOLOGIES - NOTHING. We had complained on several occasions about the air conditioning and were even given a lesson in how to use the thermostat instead of them actually fixing the problem. WE WERE LIED TO ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS about repairs being delayed or maintenance men that were suppose to show up. It took them THREE WEEKS TO GET OUR STORAGE UNIT REKEYED WHILE OUR STUFF WAS IN THERE WITH NO ACCESS TO US.
The bills associated with this apartment are extremely high, around $75-80 dollars a month for water, sewer, and trash. We live in a home in the new part behind the apartment now and do NOT PAY THIS MUCH FOR the same services. The air conditioning units are too small for the square footage of the apartment and therefore are constantly running. The bills were ranging from 114.00 to 160.00 a month for power.
We did have neighbors that had mice very badly and building five had a rat infestation problem. We luckily did not have any rodent problems but did have ants, spiders and centipedes badly on throughout our stay in the McKenzie apartments.
Parking here is a joke too!!! If you are lucky enough to get a spot when you get home from work you better not leave or you will be parking on the busy Blackrock Street.
The plumbing is bad, you can here your neighbors taking showers or flushing the toilet, running the dishwasher, and washer.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE >>>>YOU CAN FIND BETTER FOR LESS MONEY. WE paid 1300.00 a month for 2 bedrooms one bath.
