Looks can be deceiving

I've lived here for about 6 months now, and at first I couldn't wait to move in. The apartment grounds are beautiful and are what attracted me to the complex at first. The units are set up in fourplexes so it doesn't feel like a huge complex or a hotel. On the outside, very aesthetically pleasing.
However, maintenance is too slow. This is no exaggeration. If you have a request, be sure to wait a long time for someone to come take a look, and it's no guarantee that it will be fixed right the first time. There is only one maintenance man (sometimes two on a sporatic basis) and he doesn't get around to fixing problems very quickly. Units that need to be rented will always be looked at first, so be prepared to wait. I have had several problems in my unit. Keep in mind the property is over 30 years old, so many of the electric appliances are on their way out and if you have a pesky problem and maintenance is slow...you will be dealing with it for a long time. Ovens need replacing, washer/dryers are always broken, and if you have a problem the manager always likes to blame it on the old manager. Blame is not what's important anymore, just get the job done! I don't recommend moving into this complex unless the reviews start to mention these problems becoming resolved. Truth be told, we need 4 maintenance men, and rent increases are not justified with all the problems.
