So as you can tell from the title, I am not a happy camper. I lived at Miramonte for almost two years and will try to sum everything up nicely. The management was not helpful in any way, shape, or form. They did not respond timely to issues, and were rude when doing so. The maintenance people responded timely, but never fully fixed the problem. The entire time I lived there the laundry room door was in storage on the balcony, because after maintenance's three failed attempts to fix the broken hinge, I finally gave up and just put it into the storage. My car got broken into TWICE (and there were absolutely no valuables in there--I drove a 1995 Tercel so not even the radio was nice). AND...
When I moved out they took my entire rental deposit plus charged me $340 stating that I had destroyed the carpet (which I did not). Keep in mind that I have lived in 4 apartments prior to this and have ALWAYS gotten a full refund on my deposit. ALWAYS. So, in response I went and spoke with management, trying to get a copy of my move-in record where I clearly noted that the carpet was old, dingy, and dirty upon move in. In response, management told me they would not provide me with a copy and that it was not their "responsibility to help former-renter's get out of their debts." So as of now, I have been turned over to collections and was getting a letter from them every day. The only good thing: I wrote a rebuttal and they have stopped sending me letters altogether. So it is probably on my credit record, but at least I am not getting harrassed anymore.
