I've lived at the Bell St Morningside Creek 2 apartments for approximately 3 months. From day one I have had nothing but problems with the management. First of all, I leased my apartment at least 3 weeks in advance to my move in date. And guess what, on my move in day, my apartment was NOT ready for new occupants. The apartment sat unoccupied since the prior tenants moved out and management failed to prepare the apartment for new tenants. I had a moving company parked on the street for 4 hours while the apartment was cleaned (not the best either). There is no way carpet can be cleaned thoroughly & dried adequately in less than 4 hours. The cleaning job was merely superficial. Now I am responsible to pay for the 4 hours wait time for the moving company truck (a semi truck) and 3 employees.
My latest problem; I actually referred a co-worker to Morningside and he actually moved in. I was told by Leah, the manager at the Bell St. apartments that I would be receiving a check for $200.00 referral award within 3 weeks. She lied. Her boss, Diana told me that she told Leah I did NOT qualify for the $200.00 and instructed Leah to tell me that I would NOT receive the $200.00. When 3 weeks rolled around, I asked Leah again, how much longer would it be before I received my $200.00 check. This wasn't the first time I had spoken to Leah about this. I spoke to Leah at least 2-3 other times about it - she NEVER once told me I was not going to get the $200.00. If I had known that, I wouldn't have continued to ask her about it. When I finally did find out, their error was corrected and 'lo and behold - I am eligible to the $200.00. To make a long story short, it's now been 5 weeks and I'm still getting the run around.
A general problem I have with the complex is the noise involved with the traffic. Not only is it a busy intersection, but there is a fire station just down the block. Naturally, the trucks are called out several times a day, and my apartment faces the street. I get to listen to this day and night. I specifically asked LEAH about the type of traffic and noise level from the street - of course she told me it was MINIMAL. Now that the weather is cooling down, I would like to open my windows instead of using my costly air conditioner. There is so much traffic noise, leaving the windows open did NOT last very long. Unless you have ear plugs on (or a hard sleeper), you'll never get any sleep with the windows open.
So, bottom line, if you don't mind being lied to and you enjoy the big city noise - go for it. If you do not appreciate being lied to and/or like a little more peace and quiet - keep looking elsewhere. Morningside Creek 1 & 2 Apartments would definitely NOT been my choice - had I only known the truth. Needless to say, I don't plan to extend my 6 month lease. As a matter of fact, they should buy out my lease - because this review is only the first of many I plan to submit. There are other problems -like paper thin walls, that I would like to share with you.

I agree 100%. When my new complex wanted to confirm my rental history at MSC, Leah told me it would take at least 1 week for the forms to be finished because her boss would be out of town until Saturday and she couldn't fill them out because her boss liked filling out the forms since she knew all the renters (blah, I have NEVER met the boss). Leah lied because I told my current complex to call them, which they did and it was done the next day. Either her boss came back 4 days early, she lied, is lazy, or all three!

You have to wonder why Leah still has her job. She apparently is good at "sales", but doesn't know how to deal with everyday business transactions. Corporate must not care about their tenants, and only seems to care about their bottom line. People are getting out of here quick. There are at least 3 empty apartments I know of - and that can't be good on the Corporate "bottom line." Maybe corporate should come and talk to some of the tenants about their experience at MSC.
