Moved out in 2005

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005

I spent 2 years in the complex and I have to say that I was happy the first 1 3/4 years. When I first moved in, July 2003, I could walk around the complex at night and feel safe. Then they needed to get people in and they lowered the rent to $200 less than what I was paying. They were more than happy to raise my rent and not offer me their new rate (a good paying, quiet, and law abiding tenant). Not until my car was broken in to (they took a stereo that hasn't worked in a year and left my $400 camera in the back seat....thank you), the attacks started, every night when I came home (around 10pm) I had to weave in and out of police cars, I felt I needed to leave. Oh, and evey Friday and Saturday night someone was parking in my spot. I'm not the type of person that will call and tow I will just leave a note. Around 11pm one night someone came pounding on my door yelling at me and accussing me of towing his car. #1 I didn't have it towed he parked in someone elses spot and they towed it. #2 If he knew he shouldn't park there why did he do it in the first place' The Complex didn't care when I told them about it. A couple people in the complex had pit bulls that they let run loose. When I told management about it they told me to find out what apartment they lived in and then they would talk to them. The last straw was when the happened in the laundry room right next to my apt. I'm not going to deal with that. What the manager told me was "not feeling safe is not a reason to break a lease". I felt I was stuck. I had to break the lease. I'm happy I did, even though they weren't human enough to understand the position they were asking me to stay in. I have that broken lease over my head and I'm having a hard time renting where I want to, but I'm not living at Tamaron Ranch anymore. It was all worth it.
