Tamaron Ranch is an uncomfortable and insecure place to live. I have been here 10 yrs and have seen many changes for the worst. I am moving at the end of my current lease. To really know the problems here, you need to come in the evening after the office is closed. You will see the bands of young men roaming; the security floodlights that aren't functional; hear the cars with base-heavy music blaring; see a noisy, over-crowded pool area with people using foul language; wait for the one --yes, only one --night security guard trying to respond to all calls for 800 units!!; see the filthy trash areas. The biggest problem is that mgmt. continues to offer "move-in specials" that allows problematic tenants to move in. And finally, I remember the guy who was murdered here. To sum up in the clearest language...this place is GHETTO !

Well, I live here a Tamaron currently, and while I can see why some people who like to slang the term "ghetto" around arbitrarily may call it so. But others who know the "bands" of young men "roaming" are just the older version of the kids riding in packs on bikes and roller blades, primarily siblings and family member whose complexion seems to cause more discomfort than their activities or language, which is no worse than the average Corporate American "Clear Channel" line-up. Of the three pools, only one seems remotely populous, particularly for youth who tend to enjoy congregating amongst their peers (duh). Maybe that's why there are two more within easy walking distance. I've never heard base blaring, although one might be able to detect the the baseline of the gospel rap music in my CD changer from outside the vehicle. I suppose latin horns and electric guitars would be equally offensive. As for move-in specials, what is your definition of "problematic tenants" and how does that correspond with move-in specials? Some elaboration would probably bring more clarity than you wish to see. Oh, and have you watched the news lately? Random murders are happening on college and high school campuses. Are they "ghetto" too? This is certainly not the jungle of LA or the hoods of ---- Germany. Either you got some serious self-hate going on, or you've got some bitter prejudice and could probably benefit from saying "hi" to strangers on occassion. You sound like the type who gets road rage and gives people the bird...

I stand by my use of the current colloquial term "ghetto". The term isn't a synonym for ethnic youth but rather a term that incompasses any number of activities such as murder, assaults, car break-ins, indescriminate blaring of music (by anyone), trash dumped on the ground right in front of the dumpster etc. When that occurs on a consistent basis, that's ghetto

Tamaron Ranch is GHETTO. I have lived in Natomas since 1987! They used to be Discovery Park apartments! Back then they had meth labs that were always cracked down on. Those apartments have been horrible since I can remember. I am going back over 20 years now! To those who live there now, you have no idea how bad it has been in the past. So what you see now, is just a continuation of then. The apartments were given a new look, new name and still housed the same type of section 8 tenants who make the place bad and bring it down!
