DO NOT MOVE TO NATOMAS RIDGE APARTMENTS

Living in Natomas Ridge has been awful. From the street, the place looks great. When we came to see the place, they took us on a short tour to see the grounds and it looked great. There were perennial flowers in nice little flower beds with lush green grass. What we found out later is that they keep the areas that they show to potential tenants immaculate, but once you move in, they do absolutely zero upkeep on the areas that are not visible to the public. The flowerbeds around the apartment they moved us into are compacted dirt. They have "dirt lawn" for large portions of the areas that they don't take potential tenants to see. The laundry rooms are not well maintained. The managers are unprofessional and don't seem to be very well educated.
There are stray kids running around all day and stray men running around all night. The area lights in some common areas don't work, leaving dark areas where groups of guys hang out all hours of the night and smoke and drink and lord knows what else. They stand around in the common areas and smoke weed as if it were perfectly legal. On two occasions, I've had female family members tell me that they would not come to visit us anymore because they don't feel safe walking to our apartment. I've actually seen certain guys leering at my female relatives as walk to and from our apartment. My wife is afraid to walk outside at night. I mean seriously, what do you do' At Natomas Ridge I had the choice to either stay holed up in the house or go outside and have a confrontation.
The walkways are littered with little zip lock baggies, juice boxes and dirty diapers. I didn't want to confront my neighbors about it so I called management to ask them to send a guy to clean up the common areas. They did send a guy to pick up the big stuff eventually, but I don't think that I should have to ask them to keep the common areas clean.
They tow paying tenant s cars. When we sat down to sign the lease, they explained that they have a two car per apartment policy with one covered parking space and a common parking space. They issued us two parking passes with a number associated with our lease. We parked our commuter car in our assigned space and my "spare" car over in a remote lot. I admit I hadn't been driving the car so I allowed the registration to lapse. (Times are tough.) One day we received a letter from a towing company saying that they had been in possession of my car for a week and it would cost $800 to get it out. When I went to the rental office to ask why they had given my car to the tow company, they said that their policy is that if your tags were expired they would have your car towed. Now I understand that they don't want abandoned cars in their lot...I get it. But for one, they could have told me about the policy and for two, the parking pass was in the window with a numbered parking pass associated with our lease. I think it would have been perfectly reasonable to notify me that my car was in danger of being towed or even letting me know that my car HAD BEEN towed. The manager's stance was that, "The rules say I can tow your car so I don't have to employ any commons sense, decency or good faith at all."
We're currently in escrow to buy a new home. We told management that we would be moving out at the beginning of the month. Well, the title company screwed something up so we needed an extra week to get the deal done. We called management and said we need to stay another week in order to get our deal done and, of course, we would pay for the extra week. They said fine. Within the next couple of days, they hung an eviction notice on our front door. Now I know for a fact that the lady upstairs and the lady next door haven't paid rent in months. Maybe because the majority of tenants at Natomas Ridge are deadbeats and/or lowlifes, Natomas Ridge's management is obliged to treat all of their tenants like deadbeats and/or lowlifes.

So sorry you're going thru that. I lived there from April until September and June let me out of my lease... She says to keep it quiet but whatever... I had the same issues you did with one extra, I could not even sit on my upstairs balcony without being asked for money, the use of my own personal cell phone and cigarettes... One time I tried to ignore and I was called a f%$#(*^ B... Oh I hope you get out fast and don't mess around at night.. Good luck...

To the Natomas Ridge management - you can do better than that. Get your acts together and straighten up that dump. Good tenants are leaving voluntarily while you end up with horrible dwellers. You're getting way too much bad reviews!

Wow! I posted a review about my experience and I left out a lot of stuff. I am absolutely amazed that we share the same experience in reference to our vehicles. NATOMAS RIDGE APARTMENTS TOWED MY CAR AND IT WAS REGISTERED! ONE OF THEIR GHETTO TENANTS STOLE MY STICKER. In addition, I had my parking pass issued to me by the managment displayed in the window when they towed it. I travel a lot so I told security about my sticker being stolen and they assured me that they would make sure everything is o.k. When I got back into town my car was gone. I spoke to the managment there and they told me the same thing..."we can tow your car if it's not registered." The idiot management can't even verify registration. So they tow first and ask questions later. I had to go to the DMV to get a print-out of my current registration (and new sticker of course) and prove to the management that they were, as usual, wrong! What kind of complex tows a car when they have prior knowledge that the vehicle is 1) not abandoned, 2) the possesion of their tenant, 3)displaying the proper parking credentials required by the managment. Well, Natomas Ridge does.
P.S. The car was brand new.
