An Objective View- Nice Place to Live for Sacramento

I happened to google the apartments name and came across this website. I have lived in Riverpoint from the summer of 2005 until present and after reading the reviews, I wonder if I'm living in the same apartment complex described. Yes I will admit that I can occassionally hear my neighbors, but its an apartment complex, what do you expect. I too have heard the loud car stereos at night. However this has been between 10:00pm-11:30 on Friday and Saturday nights when people are most likely picking up or dropping off their friends. I don't remember hearing anything after midnight. I did have some loud neighbors across the street, but I complained and I saw the night security patrol out the next night in the area. The only other negative thing that happened to me was that someone tried to open my door a few months after I moved in. It was a weekday morning, but again this was an opportunist who went around checking to see if anyone left their door unlocked. It could have happened in any apt complex. I called the police and they were there in a few minutes as well as the management. Other than that I have never had any major problems to where I felt that my safety was in danger. If anything I always regard this complex as quiet.
As far as the shootings, car break ins, police helicopters and underlying racist tones about the "section 8" mothers leaving their kids to run wild, I have never experienced this in this complex. I would be the first to move out if I even heard that this happened. I will say that I live in the front section, but I've been to the back end of the complex and it looked nicer to me than the front. I believe that this complex does rent to section 8 and some tenants look "rougher" than others, but no one has ever bothered me or my neighbors. Plus how would somone know who was on Section 8 unless they asked. I have noticed that the management has seemed to have a high turnover and I inquired about this. I was told (and verified this through my own research) that this complex is part of a larger real estate company (CTL management) that has apartment complexes throughout Sacramento and even CA. A lot of times the management will leave this complex and rotate to another property site under the same managment company. To be honest, the biggest selling point on these apartments was the management. In the two years I've been there I've only had one probelm with a person in the office and I complained to the Regional Manager and Property Manager. The situation was resolved and it wasn't a problem.
This place is far from ghetto. How many ghetto apartments have gardners that come out at least once a week and 7 day a week maintenance staff' When I moved into my apartment there was some moldy stuff in the windows and in the bathroom. I put in a service request and it was bleach cleaned. That was two years ago and it has never come back. I know everyone has different experiences, but you have to judge for yourself. Also about this complex being in the hood, its located across the street from very professoinal business offices and hotels. Second, it runs parallel to some prime real estate. Its no way that the adjoining homeowners are going to let this area get out of control. Plus the police are always driving up and down Oak Harbour giving out tickets for parking.
After thinking about it, the previous comments must have been meant for the apartment complexes on the other side of I-5 closer towards Raleys. Now that looks ghetto.
