wow. lots of light, good layout, updated fixtures, nice price - looks great! sign me up! until we see the HOLE that we'll ACTUALLY be renting (that was just the MODEL, it turns out). ok, we think, this may not be so bad - the lack of light will save on air conditioning bills, etc ... that will be good.

fast forward to the first day we actually live there and we can NOT find parking to save our lives - that's always fun to come home to after a long day at work.

a couple weeks later ... what's that smell' why do i feel like i'm living in a basement' and i just CLEANED that mold!

laundry day ... ahh, yes ... what could be better than schlepping your clothes half a block to find there are no washers open, hoodrats are running around screaming, and some psycho feels the need to talk your ear off about anything that happens to come to mind.

leaves - i don't know about you, but my idea of great grounds maintenance is having the leaves and dirt blown into my patio EVERY DAMN WEEK. oh, and the patio wall that's half detached from the building' that's wonderful too. don't forget about the little sycamore droppings that fall EVERYWHERE in the fall & winter - my roommate broke her foot and was in a cast for months.

don't forget the water damage in the bathroom due to leaks which they claim to fix every time and never do ...

there a reason they have a $500 referral fee - they're desperate. note also that their office looks like the taj mahal while the apartments go to pot. real nice. i can tell you appreciate your tenants. (not that the office staff knows what tenant means. i doubt the majority of them have so much as an elementary school education.)
