expensive for what you get

When I first moved in I got a "promotional" deal of 775/month for a one bedroom. Not a bad deal as you can one a one bedroom cheaper if you're willing to live in a gang infested neighborhood like Oak Park. What really annoyed me however after moving in was having to pay an extra $40/month for water, sewer, and garbage so my rent is really 815. Now that my lease is expiring they want to raise the raise to 875/month and I assume the same 40 a month for water, sewer, and garbage. The apartment itself is decent and the amenities are pretty nice. But I really am sick and tired of the freeway noise. I can't enjoy myself on the balcony as the noise is so loud that I can't even hear who I am talking to when I am on the phone. So for that, there is really nothing they can do about it except stop raising the rates for an already overpriced complex. The other thing that is really irritating is that people drive their big dodge ram 4x4s right on to the grass because they are too lazy or not strong enough to manage carrying their groceries from the parking lot, leaving huge tracks and mud puddles on the grass. But really I do not think anyone really cares. There are a couple of nice pluses like being close to the river and Sac State and the free video rental. Fitness center is prett nice too but recently a lock was put on the thermostat so that people can turn the AC while working out which really sucks in the middle of a hot summer. The hot rarely seems to be in use consequently it is a low priority in fixing. The other bad thing is that there is a lot of car break-ins here. it is easy pickins and a quick get away for all the thugs from Oak Park. The so called gated community is like an expressway at night with partiers one by one filing constantly filing on in. If a friend does not know the code here they have never had to wait long for someone to drive in so they can get in. Lastly, if you live here you don't want to have a car that makes you look like a spoiled littled rich college student with your $25,000 2009 Honda or big rig Dodge Ram. Then, sorry to say you are just avertising to the thugs what they can steal from you. Overall, it is really not been too terrible but it is quite expensive for what you get. I am moving into a 2 bedroom in a nice quiet area that is cheaper than my one bedroom. Anyway good luck, it is contrary to what some of the reviewers have posted not the worst place ever but you can definetly do better.

I agree whole heartedly with you 100 percent. People who are moving into apartments really need to take the comments written from previous tenants serious. Because when I moved here now I live else where, I read the comments and oh no those people don't really know what they are talking about. Boy! I should have really taken it serious, boy did I suffer with the extremely high rent and water, sewer bills and someone is forever messing with your car. Good Luck to you!
