Take the Bad with the Good.

Ok first off, this isn't the WORST place to live. I've been there a year and haven't had any huge problems to make me feel like I made a huge mistake.
The good: These apartments are conveniently located close to sac state (15 min walk or 5 minute bike ride). 2 minute walk from a 24 hour gas station and 24 hour taco bell lol. It is gated and a security guard is usually there in his car at the gate to see who is coming in. They just redid the front area and it looks like the apartments were recently repainted. Each area has its own pool (there are 5 areas). Maybe its because I drive an '03 cavalier, but I've never had my car broken into, also I'm smart enough not leave anything valuable lying out in the open. I've never had to deal with noisy people other than the one time a couple drunk people jumped in the pool at 2am. And the living room is quite large compared to other apartments.
The bad: For one thing, the model they showed us was not the final product, because they didn't tell us there was an extra $100 a month fee for the nice cabinets. Our counters haven't been replaced in months and the bathrooms have rust in the shower and the sinks. If you have something that needs to be fixed, expect to call the front office 3 times before they actually do something about it, and when they do, the maintenance guys who don't even speak english will do a half ass repair job. We had mice or rats in the attic and after the 3rd call I finally walked to the office to tell them and they gave me 2 sticky pads that they said to put under my bed... Wtf' what is that gonna do for rats in the attic' anyway, even though it is gated, anyone who cant get in usually just waits until a resident drives up and opens the gate, wahla! easy entry. Even though there are 5 pools, they are all dinky and they are always below freezing somehow. The fitness center is an absolute joke so I won't begin to describe why. Oh and my favorite part, when we moved in they told us that we could go month to month after our lease was up. They did NOT tell us that they would raise our rent $100 if we DIDNT resign a lease. I also got a noise complaint on a night I wasn't even in town and they refused to negotiate putting it in my rental history. And if you need to park at night and your roommate has the covered spot, GOOOOOOOD LUCK on finding a space.
All in all, its not bad for a college student if you have a strong budget (2x2 is $1035 plus sewage, water, trash, electricity, internet, phone, cable = roughly $1275), but if you're looking for something high end, look elsewhere. Rivercrest is a temporary solution to your housing search, needless to say, I wont be re-signing my lease.

Very Funny, But I Sympathize W U
I laughed so loud, but it really is sad! Especially the part about the sticky thing to put under your bed for the rats & mice......(hilarious).
It would be nice if someone could call authorities on these people, for taking advantage of being close to Sac State, and punishing students who suffer "when they take the bait."
