Wow. So many complain-holes. hahaha This is an apartment complex. If I had a bunch of money, I would live in a house. But I don't, so this is the best I can do. Before moving here, I virtually checked out every single apartment complex in Davis and West Sacramento. Nothing beats this place for the price and location. I could not afford to live in Davis, plus none of the complexes there offered such an open policy on dogs. (If a dog is a jerk, it's not his fault, it's his owner's...has nothing to do with size either.) And, this is a really nice neighbourhood! There are some nice schools and parks around here, plus the beautiful riverside area within walking distance. If I wanted to rent a place this size with a washer and dryer in the unit, I'd be paying almost double in Davis.
Yes, there are pros and cons to this place. I wish people would stop exaggerating when leaving reviews. To start, no, the staff are not trailer trash a-holes who don't give you the time of day. All the girls in the office are quite nice and most remember my name when I walk through the door. Hint: sometimes people's attitudes towards you are a reflection of your attitude towards them. ;) I do like the sugar cookies, ladies! More importantly, the two times I needed something fixed in my kitchen, someone came the SAME DAY. When I moved in, they replaced all the carpets. I also asked for a microwave. This came 3 months later, as soon as they had a new one available. My stove was brand new. Sure, the washer and dryer are old. But they are built into the unit, which beats using communal machines or going to a laundromat, so I'm definitely not complaining about that one!
Once someone's dog pooped on the lawn in front of my house. I remember not to step in it and know that next time someone mows the lawn, the poo will be mowed into oblivion. No big deal. I wish the jackass who didn't pick up would do so in the future, but this is not unique to this complex. I have met most of my neighbours' dogs. They are quite nice. By the way, if you don't know the dog, you should not approach him. So instead of complaining about a dog trying to bite your kid, why not keep your kid away from the dog. There are a lot of cats roaming around. I happen to like cats. I just hope none of them get run over. I LOVE that I can have 3 pets in my house, even big dogs. This is the main reason I moved here. If you're not pet friendly, then don't take up one of these rare to come by valuable units for other large dog families who are having trouble finding a place to live.
So with any apartment complex, some of the neighbours are going to be shady. Say hi to them as much as you can. If they think you recognize them, they are less likely to break into your home or steal your car. :) I heard a rumour that a close-by neighbour's house got broken into, but I never saw any evidence or any police in the area. I have been here over 4 months now and I am feeling more and more safe. Don't get me wrong, I am still very cautious, especially at night, but it's no where near as horrible as other reviewers have made this out to be. Once in a while (maybe twice) I have seen a police cruiser driving around. Big deal. We're in the city.
There are lots of kids here. Most of them are nice kids. Say hi to them and you will learn this. They do kid things like play ball on the street and ride their bikes around. Don't you remember what is was like to be a kid'
I like this place. I was iffy at first, especially when I heard about the crime, but I think there are a lot of places that are way scarier, like Natomas. You can't beat the size of the apartment for the price, or the pet policy, or the fact that there is a washer and dryer in each unit. Parking is not great when you have a lot of guests over, but not impossible. Sound proofing is great here. I can only hear my neighbours using the shower, never their conversations. The location is awesome. 15 minutes to Davis. 15 minutes to Arden Fair mall. 7 minutes to the shopping centre in Natomas. 5 minutes to downtown Sac. 10 minutes to the UC Davis med school. 10 minutes to the airport. 15 minutes to the zoo. Shall I go on'
So to conclude my rant, this place is just fine. In fact, all my friends who are renting expensive college student-ridden apartment complexes in Davis all want to move here. This is the nature of the apartment complex. I will keep you updated on how I like this place a few more months down the road. But certainly, so far so good. Families and college students, young professionals alike, this place is great if this is all you can afford!

yeah, right...i cant wait to hear your review 6 months from now. When you have a serious issue to resolve and you wont be able to find an answer. Don't feel too safe, i use to feel "safe" too until i heard about the apartments being broken into and the cars being broken into. you like to pride of this place....i want to hear you several months from now. If you live alone, you will never encounter the parking problem, but it you live with someone else, its inevitable that you will find it annoying....until 6 months from now....have a wonderful time in dreamland.
