My husband and I moved into this complex back in 2004. At that time the place was very clean and well run. However we noticed a turn for the worse after there was a change in management.

1. For everyone on this site which has made comments about the security cameras, the comments are true, the cameras do not work. As a matter of fact, the cameras never worked. When the camera were originally installed (sometime in 2005), the management company discovered that the cameras were not compatible with their software but only after the installation. This should give you an idea of the lack of competence of the management staff.

2. The are a lot of loud and sleazy looking individuals which hang out at (and or live in)the complex. My husband and I are reasonably professional individuals and I can honestly say that when we moved in (2004) we felt like the place was a good fit for our social/economic levels. When we finally left in 2007, we felt very uncomfortable living in a gang-banger hood-type environment.

3. The comments on this site are correct about management never fixing anything. The area by the mailbox which looks like it was smashed in by a truck had been that way for at least 6 months before we moved out.

4. Additionally, I want to make all current renters aware that your move out process will probably not go smoothly. We had a leak in our wall which we had told management about for the past year before we moved. It had discolored and misshaped the wall. Let me stress that we informed management of this fact several times but they failed to do anything about it since it would have required us to move to another unit. When we gave our notice they tried to make us pay for that wall!!! We were so outraged!

In closing I would just like to say that after suffering at ShorePark for 3 years, we were able to buy a place. After closing on our new home 2 months before our lease was up, we didn't care about paying 2 months rent on an empty apartment -- it was so bad that we just wanted to get out as quickly as possible!!!

do not come here, i do not recommend this place. the people here are very rude. they seriously do not care about tenants and i understand that they are here for business, but they have terrible business practices. ever since i've moved here i've been disappointed. they started out very concerned about my needs, but after my second call to the management regarding issues of this run down apartment, they showed their true colors. i don't appreciate their attitude as if i am asking for too much. all i wanted was for them to come and look at my apartment because of broken cabinet drawers and problems with my old and run down washer, but the young girl there was giving me attitude as if this is the quality i deserve. for the price i pay i'd rather live in another apartment complex. remember folks, there must be reason as to why they offer affordable units. by the way, i've seen some of the reviews here and i must say that i agree with the majority. i can't wait till my lease is up and move away from this fake place.

wow your #4 is the same issue I have right now. wall has water marks and paint cracking from roof leaking and no help has come. it's been like this for at least a year and i'm moving soon i will be bringing the thunder if they try and make me pay for that damage. you can even see where there was a leak before and it just looks patched up and painted over.
