Granted, I haven't lived in a tremendous amount of apartment complexes, but of those I've lived in, Sierra Palmas has been the best. The reason for moving out is that my wife and I are buying a house. Below are a list of my pros, cons, and comments followed by a summary statement.

Pros:
Very quiet community
Convenient location near river access and shopping
Very tasteful and well-maintained grounds
Extremely kind & helpful management/staff
Outdoor gas grills open to residents
Reasonable rent
Washer/dryer room and exercise room are well kept

Cons:
Very limited parking at times
Gates don't really keep thieves out
Apartments are a bit older and occasionally need maintenance (but maintenance is always prompt and helpful)
Groundskeepers aren't always courteous and may blow dirt in your windows or on your car (not really a fault of the apt complex however)

Comments:
I have heard complaints of people on this site that there is no insulation and you can hear your neighbors through the walls. I have not found this to be the case. As for safety, as is common in this part of town, crime is present. My car was broken into once, and I then learned to keep nothing of any value in my car. It was not broken into a second time. I do not understand why other residents are claiming to have such horrible problems with management. Every time I have had an interaction with the management or the maintenance staff they have been as professional and courteous as I could ask for. I will say that I have not agreed to all their rules such as no guests parking inside the gates, but I can see the need for them and try to adhere to them.

Overall, I was truly sad to be leaving this complex and I would highly recommend it to prospective residents.
