While I'd be lying if I said the place was horrible, I wouldn't live there again.
First off, the neighborhood is only "ok" during the day. At night it is not safe to be walking around there. Across the street is an albertsons plaza and a few restaurants.
Unfortunately, the complex is directly behind a japanese fast-food place and a round table pizza. I was in an apartment on the very front of the property. At that point in my life, I was working 5am Shifts...so I was going to bed at 10pm. This is not ideal when you hear the "ding-dong" of the japanese drive through all hours of the night. Too many sirens too.
I liked the floor plan at first, but with time it got annoying. the kitchen, dining room, and living room are basically one big room. While common in apartments, the model would lead you to believe otherwise. Also, the washer/dryer is TERRIBLE...its a stackable unit, and the dryer can't dry more than 2 or 3 shirts at a time. Much less a comforter. The split master bath was also hard to clean and lots of smells crept up from the pipes around the toilet. Be ready to invest in a lot of bleach.
Parking was never impossible, but those "reserved" spaces behind the gate are really first-come first-serve. The management office won't do anything about it. The pool...eh. I've seen better, i've seen worse. Probably the nicest thing was the concrete balcony.
Also, it is a family community, so be wary of kids. If you don't like kids or you're looking to meet other young professionals, this is not the place. Aside from the pool, there really aren't any amenities. There also seemed to be a lot of domestic disturbances, and cops were there a lot. They kept me up nearly all night one night while evicting/arresting my neighbor.
All in all, I chose the place because I had a 2bedroom 2 bath for the same price as a 1 Bedroom in nicer neighborhoods. I really regret that. I think I would have enjoyed my time in Sac better if I'd lived in La Riviera, off Howe Ave, or in Folsom.
My advice: go somewhere else, if you can. If you can't...go to Tally Ho with low expectations and you'll be OK.
Oh, and they're also ------- about the deposit. They charged me $50 to remove the 2 ice cube trays I'd fogotten.
