Horrible Management and upkeep

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003

I moved into Tuscaro apartments in the late winter of 2003. It was chosen on a whim because they allowed pets and my wife and I had a average sized dog. Most places we went to didn't allow any.

The first thing I noticed was the parking. Each unit is alloted a space per tenant. That didn't seem to be the case. On numerous occasions my wife or I were forced to park in the visitors spaces located outside the gates near the front of the complex. It was very frustrating mostly because someone in the complex had parked their dust-collecting Land Rover in front of our apartment for the better half of a year before any managment had taken steps to have it moved. this was an on-going issue we had with managment as well as other tenents and their lack of respect for the rules.

Relating to the parking issue, safety was also an issue. The gates prtecting the complex were constantly broken. Gates would be left open for weeks without repair, therefore alowing strangers to wander into the apartment grounds and solicitate their wares. Not what i would expect from a supposed "Gated Community".

Now because the complex was built on ground orignally for farming, there were issues with wildlife, ant to be specific, invading the space of us tenants. I expect to see insects and wildlife (i.e. birds, foxes, rabbits, etc wandering the grounds, but it was as if the contractors had found the largest ant hill they could find and built on top of it with only a layer of turf to protect the homes from the upset previous tenants. Throughout the year of renting at Tuscaro my wife and I had to call on the maintenance to put down traps and spray probably 20 times. I'm not exagerating. It was implorable.

Rent costs were the least of our problems and I would say it was fair for the layout at any other apartment complex in town. The location was unfortunate being right across from Arco Arena (traffic on gaem night was fu*#in' rediculous) and a lack of supermarkets and cafs was unfortunate. The closest thing was a Starbucks at the huge, and I mean HUGE consumer plaza about a half mile away. nothing within' walking distance. Something lacking in most new developments now a days.

I rate Tuscaro Aparments very low and would NEVER suject someone to living there by my suggestion.
