Content and more objective....

My husband and I moved here from another state in Sept 08. We didn't view the apartments in person and just went from pictures and online descriptions. This is the first apartment complex-but not the first rental) we have lived in as well. First off, parking does suck. We have a garage, so for us it is not that bad-we only have one car; however, for guests and people who have more than one car it is ridiculous. No additionally/guest parking. We have had 2 of our friend's cars towed and when we first moved in we got 3 parking tickets for parking in the fire lanes(now if you park on the fire lanes, you will get towed)-the only extra parking for residents (on the north side).
Everything else about these apartments have been surprisingly fine. We live along the lake, and yes, people walk around and some people are noisy at times-not a lot, but it isn't THAT bad; the geese/ducks are loud and can be annoying at first, but it is something we have gotten used to. The apartments are very well sound proofed. We were very happy with the sound issues when we moved in. We have respectful and quiet neighbors (again, we live on the north side, so I'm not sure what it is like down on the south side).
The staff, to us, has been very helpful and friendly. Once a month they have a resident appreciation night at which they provide food-free of charge and socializing with other residents. We have yet to go to one, but that is a nice way of showing appreciation. We have had prompt response with issues and problems in our apartment-which has only happened like once or twice. Pretty much we have been out of their hair and they have been out of ours.
Over all, it has been a pleasant experience with only the parking being an issue. My husband don't want to move to another place in Sacramento. We will most likely stay here until we move to another state or buy a house.
I think everyone's experiences are different, so if you're going to make a decision about moving into an apartment take the good with the bad. It is near impossible to find an apartment complex without one issue of concern. The reviews that I have read, yes, some issues are valid, but others may just be out of resentment about their personal management experience or just their negative attitudes. I am trying to be objective.
I would consider Tuscaro as an option in your apartment search. We like it. :)
