Terrible Experience

I was excited about moving to the Verge beacuse of the great price and wide range of ameneties. I called ahead on the day of my move-in to make sure everthing was in place, and was told to show up after 3 o'clock, as my room was being steam-cleaned. Upon arriving, I was told that not only could management not find my key, but could not find my paperwork either. When I finally got maintenance personnel to let me into my appartment, I was greeted by a foul odor, no door on my room (which means no lock), and a room that looked like someone had moved out 10 minutes prior. The carpets were still dirty, the dresser was broken, the walls were filthy, and the mattress was used. I was told that Home Depot had not shipped my door in time to be installed and that they would pick one up that night. I moved all my things onto the bed and desk so that someone could clean the next day. Two days later I returned to spend the night. The carpets had been cleaned, but were still wet. The door had been installed, but it was not new and had black marks and small holes in it. I then discovered that the bathroom door did not lock. I unpacked a bit and tried to get some sleep, but something in the appartment next to me sounded like a Big-Rig idleing and I got very little sleep the first few hours. Around 4 in the morning I woke up to a severe athsma attack and had to use my rescue inhaler. Around 7 in the morning, after 3 hours of sleep, I dicovered the source of the athsma. In my closet, on the ceiling, was a black mold spot the size of a CD, also, the underside of my mattress was covered in a soft, wet, white mold. I told management that I wished to cancel my lease. The next day, I was authorized to void my lease and moved out. I am still waiting to be refunded my months rent and the $100 deposit. I was repeatedly lied to and misled by the staff and management, and now I don't have a place to live with less than 48 hours until school starts. I would reccommend that everyone look no further than FAR FAR away from this complex.
