In a letter to the Better Business Bureau of Sacramento I wrote:
This apartment complex is represented as student housing, but it is not.

They did not screen any of their current residents.

Their security has been negligent on many occasions.

Tenants were not made aware of several gunshots nd police matters that occured within the complex including an armed robbery and a more recent incident in which a man was killed by police inf ront of many tenants.

Security gaurds have been witnessed taking pictures of young gilrs at parties.

Maintenance workers have entered my apartment several times unannounced, without even knocking.

They overcharged me for my security deposit and ast month's rent and did not even compensate me until 6 months later, after I provided them with copies of the checks, because they had no record that I paid at all.

Eviction notices are posted on people's doors, and are used as a scare tactic to see who actually paid thier rent.

Strange men loiter outside of my apartment and car on a regular basis, and security refuses to come remove them and several homeless people going through the garbage.

They represent the complex to be gated, but they may not, since the gate is ALWAYS open.

Both office managers and regional vice president, Paula Pratt ahve refused to answer my letters and phone messages, as well as my attorney's.

After a recent shooting, they allowed people to break their leases because they had bullet holes in their cars, but not eye witnesses to the murder.

The current office manager, James told me that those people were let out of their leases because they were "directly affected" by the shooting.

Maybe I misunderstood him because to me, being "directly affected" includes witnessing a murder.

If you hate this placeas much as I do, please write a letter to the better business burea.

Maybe if enough people write, it will makie a difference.

Has anyone considered starting a class action law suit agains this company? It would be HUGE, they are nationwide, they are taking advantage of innocent, naive college students NATION WIDE...I am not about suing people, but when my boyfriend adn I almost had to pay $16,000 (between the two of us) for a place we were not even going to reside in (becuase we at the last minute got into and went to SDSU)...they were not going to let us out of our lease, but when i caught them breaking the law they had no choice but to do so.

These people are CROOKS!!!

The same company that is over The Verge is also over some apartments I lived in in Fresno called University Village. The same things that I am hearing about The Verge are what happened in University Village. Maybe we should all get together, those in Fresno and Sacramento, and file a lawsuit.
