I am writing this in representation of a family member who was recently robbed here at The Verge. It was noted by the Detective that there were no signs of a break-in, which would indicate that a key had to be used to enter the (locked) apartment by someone other that the tenant. Doesn't surprise me, since Management allows Maintenance people to enter the apartments for "inspections" all the time. (I am in the process of checking into this so called Inspection procedure and if this is even legal, which I feel is a violation of privacy and may be the reason why so many people have been robbed within this complex.) When you fill out all the rental information to rent one of these apartments, I don't recall seeing anything indicating that Maintenance will be entering your apartments when ever they feel like it, for Inspections". When I asked one of the student employees in the rental office what the criteria is for Maintenance to always be entering the apartments, she told me they go in to check for leaks and damage. Never heard of such a thing! I think a tenant is very capable of letting management know if they have a leak or not. Also, Management wanted nothing to do with us when I went to talk to them about being robbed. Infact, when I asked if I could speak with the REAL manager (if there even is one) I was instead directed to a student employee who couldn t help me with anything. This place is Falsely advertised and lures the students and renters in by telling them they have security on site and have all kinds of great amenities. What The Verge should be advertising about this place is that: "YOUR PRIVACY WILL BE VIOLATED MONTHLY AND CHANCES OF BEING ROBBED BEFORE YOUR LEASE IS UP, IS VERY LIKELY". Management camouflages all their numerous and repeated problems that are allowed to go on daily, by throwing a couple parties here and there to make it look like its a fun place. Trust me, it won't be much longer before The Verge has a class action law suit against them and they appear on Channel 10 News exposing all their violations and inside corruption that goes on. Better Business Bureau and Department of Housing are all being made aware of the The Verge and the way it runs business. Just check with the Sacto PD what the crime rate is in here. Anyone who plans to rent here at The Verge better read all the different comments on this web page before they consider it. I regret I didn't know about this site beforehand. There are only a few positive comments written on this website, but they are no doubt written by an employee or some ignorant person paid to do it. Everyone who already lives here or even thinks about renting here, BEWARE...you are likely to be robbed, have your car towed or stolen, and have maintenance people banging down your doors to violate your privacy some time soon.. Do not rent here, THE VERGE IS CORRUPT!!
