I am not ameriacan,I have read all of the article with the common to The Verge here.
First I will introduce our situation:
We have 12 persons will go to CSUS during 2008/08/012009/05/22,and we used to live in Unversity Villege,but UV said that they have to live in at last for 1 year,that menas we will lost 2 months rents,stiil,UV have us to live in until 2008/08/23,that
means us have to live in Motel6 during 2008/08/012008/08/23,but we have no cars in USA,so we must have to choose a place nearing the CSUS,we do not like The loft,so the only choose is [The Verge].
I have some question for [The Verge]:
1.Do they have any lease that we must live at last 1 year'
2.Any other places that we can choose'(but we must go to CSUS everyday,we do not want to spend too much time in transportation.)
3.According to your experience living in The Verge,what should we notice about'I hear that there are some theft in this place'
Anything you tell me that help us a lot,thanks for your helping,you can contact with me.

do not move here, the management is really bad they will screw you over like they did to me the property manager is only in her only 20s she seems like she has no experience whatsoever in running a business, the place is too expensive. i had someone break into my room and live there while i was gone for a couple of weeks and the management didnt do anything about it, and the management even changed the lock to my front door so i wouldnt be able to go in and they even refused to give me a copy of the key to my own place but insisted to make me pay my rent. now i paid the last month rent and they wont even let me turn my keys in.....dont live here they're very unorganized and isnt professional believe me on this one or you'll get screwed over also

wow that sounds like one case and one persons opinion. that is not my experience at all i have had a good experience at the Verge its like one big resort. The pool is very clean as is the whole property, the management was very helpful in helping me with my lease takeover. If you would still be interested i am moving into my friends new house and not going to be attending CSUS this semester, so i am looking for someone to take over my lease: it is a one bedroom one bath for $870 a month with no security deposit, it includes everything(cable, internet, gym, shuttle to CSUS every half hour, washer dryer each unit, private balcony.)must have cosignor with credit score of 650 or better and make 3 times the rent a month to qualify. If interested or have any questions e-mail me at veritas00@myway.com its really safe their is private security, alarms in every apartment, and double dead bolt, that guy must have lived on the first floor and left his window open or something, his own negligence.

Read my review bobohuang. You heard theft? You heard correctly. That place's management and guards are going to get one of their tenants killed because of how terribly incompetent their selection process is. It may be inconvenient to find another place but those guys just do not know how to run a rental property.

the complex looks good. But dont make the mistake of signing a lease here. They claim to have securtiy , survilliance cameras, and all the security gadgets - they simply fake it. The management will screw you up big time because they are not accomodative at all. They rent out a Studio apartment as 1Bedroom apartment. They boast about the facilities on campus like Gym - half its equipments are not working for ages now. Free internet, which is not secure at all (any one can hack your computer). It is a Trap.All management wants is - RENT. They post ads about secure alarm system being installed but never install it. This Apartment complex is big time FAKE. They make their own policies and claim it to be under Federal Law. so the trick is to be well read about the Federal housing laws because they try to dodge you all the bloody time.
