Crappy but convenient

I lived here for 2 years and just moved 3 weeks ago. Most of what you hear about this place is true. The grounds are badly lit at night, lights that don't work never get fixed. Security is pretty much non existent. The front gate was broken most of the two years I lived there. I never had anyone break into my car but I did have a houseplant and a bike stolen from my patio. We also had a bum try to break into our bedroom window one night, luckily we were awake at the time. The dumpsters are sometimes overflowing and often have dumpster divers in them (although they were always more respectful and polite than the office staff). The pools were filthy when we moved in but are usually clean now. Too bad they are usually crammed with screaming children. The tennis and basketball courts are not maintained at all. Their were saunas and a hot tub once but they are no longer working. "The fitness center" is dirty and the lock on the door is broken. The laundry rooms are dirty, kept unlocked and usually have broken dryers. Our apartment had new cabinets and appliances, and a great air conditioner, otherwise nothing special. And the office staff. SOOO terrible. Most of them look about 18 years old, they're rude, clueless, and totally unprofessional. It is convenient to Sac State for students but watch out for yourself and your property, make sure you stay totally informed about your lease because no one will tell you anything, and try to deal with the office as little as possible.
